The Extensive Explanation of the First Chapter and Differentiation of Dependent Arising. Yönten Lodrö. The Extensive Explanation of the First Chapter and Differentiation of Dependent Arising. Yönten Lodrö. In Sanskrit: Pratītyasamutpāda ādibibaṅganirdeśasya ṭīkā. In Tibetan: The Extensive Explanation of the First Chapter and Differentiation of Dependent Arising. Volume One. Homage to all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas! Whoever possesses wisdom, there is nothing unknowable to be known; whoever possesses purity, there is nothing to be purified later; that is the protector of the world, the ender of the world; to the lord of beings, I prostrate with my head. The Dharma, also taught as it is by them, is the place of peace, the path, and made for the sake of the path. Whoever fully understands, in these three realms, revolves like a wheel, these beings have no rebirth. The noble Sangha abiding in those Dharmas, having completely transcended attachment and accumulation, possessing ten limbs, eight limbs, and eight divisions. The fruit of the path, also by the fruit, those are obtained. The explanation of these, at the time of writing the explanation of the meaning of the Sutra, will be explained later. Expressing offerings to the Three Jewels is praise and prostration. And why is that? By expressing the complete qualities of the teacher, the teaching, and the disciples, in order to generate a special respect for this Sutra, and for some to have made this teaching, and to have entered into it, and to have relied on it. Here, in verses, the topic is opened through the door of expressing offerings to the Three Jewels, thus showing the connection. Expressing offerings is also to generate a special respect for this Sutra, and because it has been said for some, it is shown to be with purpose. Generating special respect is also for the sake of listening with respect. Listening with respect is also for the sake of grasping without inversion. Grasping the meaning without inversion is also for the sake of the order of listening, thinking, and meditating, and by the order of the path of seeing and the path of meditation, by the path of seeing and the path of meditation, to abandon the afflictions to be abandoned. Saying "for some" is the ultimate protection.
