It is declared. Therefore, it is declared that contact arises from the aggregation of causes of form, and contact arises from the aggregation of causes of the eye. And it has already been declared that from the category of great elements, the six sense bases themselves are the cause. How is it? Therefore, it is said that the aggregation of the eye and so on is spoken of. Thus it is said. Venerable Ananda, if the aggregation of the eye and contact exists, but for some, due to the cause of the aggregation of the eye and contact, does not a feeling of pleasure, or a feeling of pain, or a feeling of neither pleasure nor pain arise within? Venerable one, it does not arise. Venerable Ananda, the aggregation of ear, nose, tongue, and mind and contact exists, but for some, wherever it may be, due to the cause of the aggregation of mind and contact, does not a feeling of pleasure, or a feeling of pain, or a feeling of neither pleasure nor pain arise within? Venerable one, it does not arise. Thus it is extensively explained. However, if it is said that contact arises from the aggregation of three, then what does the word "aggregation" mean? Because the nature of aggregation has not been explained, is this gathering in one place? Or is it gathering at one time? This cannot be clearly distinguished. Some others think that this is an aggregation, so they say it is a gathering. Then, the meaning of the word "also" is, if one thinks that gathering is aggregation, then for them, it should be said whether those gatherings are in a place, time, or elsewhere. If it is said that it is for simultaneous arising, then "simultaneous arising" is a synonym for "arising at one time." If that is the case, then the sense faculty and the object are no longer the cause of consciousness, because once consciousness has arisen, then these two no longer have the ability. That is to say, if it also arises simultaneously with them, then for something that has already attained its own nature, it is not reasonable for the sense faculty and the object to have the ability to generate it. Then, do these two have the ability to generate it for that which has not yet arisen? Therefore, it is said that even if it has not yet arisen, it is also non-existent. Because for the consciousness that has not yet arisen, the sense faculty and the object do not have the ability. What ability does that which has not yet arisen have? This is not reasonable. In this way, it is not reasonable for something that has already attained its own nature to be the cause of making it attain its own nature. Sutra Pitaka

And both contradict, which refers to, if it is said that when consciousness has arisen and has not arisen, the two, sense faculty and object, have no function, then it contradicts the sutra that says, "Consciousness arises dependent on the two." In this way, for the time being, there is one situation that contradicts the sutra. Even if one is the cause of the other, if it is said that "consciousness arises dependent on the two," then it shows the second situation that contradicts the sutra. What are the two? They are from eye and form to mind and dharma, because it is not that the two arise dependent on consciousness. Therefore, both contradict the sutra. The third question of the sixth is, how can it be an aggregation since the times are different? It refers to mind, dharma, and mind consciousness, their times are indeed different, mind is just past, consciousness is currently arising, dharma is sometimes future, sometimes currently arising, sometimes of the three times, and sometimes liberated from time. In this way, since the times are different, how can it be an aggregation? The so-called "entering together" refers to in time, in place, and in certain necessary things. However, the previous extensive explanation of "the two, sense faculty and object, that have already arisen" shows that the two, sense faculty and object, have a function when consciousness arises, which is the characteristic of entering together, it is an aggregation. If so, then the two, sense faculty and object, will become non-momentary, because the two that give rise in the previous moment still exist at the time of the moment of consciousness. In the third question of the sixth, the two, mind and mind consciousness, will also become aggregated together, because the two, sense faculty and object, still exist when consciousness arises. The extensive explanation of "the things of cause and effect" refers to, if it is thought that the things of cause and effect are the gathering of three, sense faculty and object are the cause, and consciousness is the effect. The so-called "three of the five" refers to eye, form, and consciousness, etc. The so-called "arising together" refers to sense faculty and object.
