That happiness and suffering, etc., arise from assembly, all that has been said above, temporarily explains that the result arises from causes of dissimilar nature, but not everything arises from everything, these are all established. That happiness and suffering arise from the two, the faculty and the object, is not unknown in the three realms. "By nature" means what is the meaning of essence and self-nature. Therefore, these two are also insurmountable. The so-called "name arises temporarily from the cause of consciousness," if someone says, in terms of kind, the nature of form is dissimilar, how can it arise from consciousness? If so, then why doesn't everything arise from everything? These two are also insurmountable. Here, it is also explained in detail that the two, cause and effect, are definite, there is a defect in the cause being definite, the effect being definite, both being definite, and being indefinite is also a defect. In terms of the cause being definite, if name and form are only the cause of consciousness, then it would contradict the sutra "from the arising of joy, there is the arising of form." The sutra will be explained below, it shows that form also arises from the cause of joy. From the arising of contact, it is known, it is explained in detail that the common cause of all mental factors other than consciousness is contact, therefore the Blessed One showed that contact is the cause of name. The so-called "from the arising of name and form, there is the arising of consciousness," refers to the consciousness that has become a part of name, it arises from the cause of name and form, which shows that it contradicts the sutra of the cause being definite as it is said. In terms of the effect being definite, if name and form are only the cause of consciousness, then for those who are born miraculously, because there are no other name and form, the six sense bases would not become the cause of consciousness. Miraculous birth refers to the complete possession of the six sense bases, arising all at once, for them, apart from the six sense bases,

Therefore, due to consciousness, the aggregates of name and form cannot be established. What is it then? It is the six sense sources. However, these are also merely name and form, and if name and form are established, then due to name and form, it cannot be said to be the six sense sources, because it is not considered that other similar moments are the cause, which is stated from here. In this way, there are other fruits of consciousness, so it is not necessarily reasonable to have a cause. If it is said that there are also three aggregates in the branch of consciousness, therefore it will not be contact, then when establishing the branch of consciousness, name and form cannot be established, so contact is not name at that time. Moreover, that also arises from the aggregation of three, and if its cause is also consciousness, then only name and form are due to consciousness, and if it is determined that it is not other, then consciousness is not the cause of that contact. If it is not determined in that way, then the statement becomes meaningless, what is the matter? If the meaning shown temporarily is these causes and conditions, then all the causes of name and form must be stated, and not just consciousness. If it is for the purpose of understanding the fruit, then all the fruits of consciousness must be stated, and not just name and form. If it is not for the purpose of understanding both, then why show these? Because there is no need to explain. The so-called name and form due to consciousness is in terms of the main cause of name and form, so it is said that way, it is not that only consciousness is the cause of name and form, this is in terms of the cause. The so-called "its difference" refers to the difference of consciousness that is completely perfumed by actions. The so-called "the same kind, those are different" means that name and form and its same kind are different, name and form are different kinds such as gods and humans.

These should not be observed. Just as the sprouts of rice, barley, etc., are different, but the seed is the main thing, so it is said that just as the sprouts of rice and barley are different, the seed is the main thing, because it is not common. Earth and so on are not, because they are the same. Likewise, those names and forms that are similar but different are transformed by the difference of consciousness that is fully conceived by actions, because the cause of birth is karma. Here again, because it is intended to fully state the order of birth, it is said that this dependent origination is the nature of the twelve branches. Here, due to the cause of the six sense bases, the main thing is not consciousness, as it is said that in this Sutra of Dependent Origination, it is not the main thing in the manner of generational transmission, but the cause of autonomy. For the arising of the six sense bases of those who are born miraculously, it is established that consciousness is the main cause. In particular, what is the name and form? It has the ability to determine the month separately. So it is said. In this Sutra of Dependent Origination, it is possible to take all the scriptures related to cause and effect and explain them, because the nature of the scriptures is the object. The meaning contained in name and form should also be known to be established here in ten ways. Establishing self-nature means speaking of the self-nature of name and form. Among them, establishing the self-nature of name should be known from speaking of the self-nature of feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness. Establishing the self-nature of form is known from speaking of the self-nature of earth and so on. The separate establishment is as follows: The four aggregates that are not form, and whatever is form, are all widely shown. The collective establishment is as follows: This form and the previous names are all combined into one and widely shown. The establishment of the initial cause is as follows: The moment of its own kind, not the object of another cause, is here.
