Since the term "without arising" refers to the samadhi without mind, it encompasses the cessation samadhi and the samadhi without perception. Among these, arising from the samadhi without mind is the time of arising, while coming out of the samadhi without perception is the time of death. If someone asks, why are the words of the scriptures repeatedly explained? The answer is: in order to generate memory, which will be explained later. The so-called "from constantly seeing things, etc." refers to repeatedly seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting, and touching objects such as form. From hearing, smelling, tasting, touching, and consciousness, the subsequent generation of memory is at a later time. If there are other non-mind-related dharmas, and occasionally mind-related dharmas arise from them, or like the red Gesar flower that arises at other times, what would happen? If habit can generate memory, then in which instant can its arising be examined? If it is tentatively assumed that only the first instant is arising, then habit in other instants becomes meaningless. If it is thought that it arises at the second instant or other times, then it needs to be explained: do the second instant, etc., have a difference from the first instant's indication, seeing, etc., that have occurred previously? If there is no difference, what fault would there be? If there is a difference, then since they also have the difference of obtaining self-nature, the memory generated by the mind and mental factors will arise later, and this reasoning becomes meaningless. If there is no difference, then like the first instant, it will not produce an effect, thus leading to no memory, because the second instant, etc., have no difference from the first instant, just like the previous instant. Mentioning habit does not mean that it cannot generate other dharmas. Some people simultaneously remember the words of the scriptures and also remember the meaning of seeing things, etc., so the fault of "habit can generate memory, in which instant can its arising be examined" should not be said to them. Therefore, one should fully cultivate through conduct.

Just as it is described in detail as "the collection of six consciousnesses." The reason for saying "therefore" is to fully demonstrate what was stated earlier. Furthermore, starting from "because the faculties are different, the consciousnesses are also different," even if one acknowledges that "the condition of actions is the collection of six consciousnesses," one should not understand the meaning in the same way as extracting the literal meaning of the words. If someone asks, what does it mean to "acknowledge the cessation samadhi with mind and without mind"? Just as it is described in detail as "in that state, no one's mind exists," even if one acknowledges "the cessation samadhi with mind," and similarly, just as it is described in detail as "this is the cessation samadhi without mind," even if one acknowledges "the samadhi with mind," one should not understand the meaning in the same way as extracting the literal meaning of the words. Just as it is described in detail as "the consciousness that connects the womb is the condition of actions," even if one acknowledges "the consciousness that connects the womb of past actions," one should not understand the meaning in the same way as extracting the literal meaning of the words. Some say that even if the consciousness that connects the womb is the condition of actions, it is not produced from past actions, but from the undestroyed state of its cause. Even if one acknowledges that expressing something like "the destroyed state of its cause" is a condition, because that is the case, therefore, it should be understood that the meaning here is implicit. This is the detailed description. The so-called "indicating the abode by the abode" means indicating the abode, the alaya-consciousness, by the abode, such as eye-consciousness. The alaya-consciousness is the abode of the six consciousnesses, because it is the main cause. It is not their abode like a container for grains, but the abode of seeds. It is called the abode of seeds because it has the ability to produce them. It is not like pouring seeds into a container, then,
