If so, then the seven things of the dharma-sphere are indicated by the sound of dharma, and this can be established. In this way, in order to rely greatly on the certainty of the faculties and objects to produce the six kinds of consciousness, it is necessary. For example, the eye and form are the cause of eye consciousness, and so on, mind and dharma are the cause of mind consciousness. Therefore, it is said that consciousness arises dependent on the two. Such things, that is, the certainty of the faculties and objects that have just been pointed out, are expressed in verses: The five twos are the faculties. This is a detailed explanation. What are the five twos? Whatever the object of the faculties is, that object is its own object, and not another. For example, the object of the eye faculty is only form, and so on, the object of the body faculty is touch, up to here. From eye and form to body and touch, these are the five twos. These five from eye and form to body and touch are ten as spheres. Whatever the mind is, that is its own object, and not another; whatever the object is, that is its own object, and not the basis. In this way, the two of the sixth sphere are the mind sphere and the dharma sphere. In this way, for the time being, from other sutras, the meaning of "consciousness arises dependent on the two" is explained in detail. Furthermore, from other sutras, the venerable Shariputra said, "Venerable one, because of what..." and so on, "If the attention that produces it abides nearby, then the eye consciousness produced from it will arise." Therefore, it is said that attention is also a cause. In order to explain this meaning, it is said in detail: Attention is not distinguished by type, it is the common cause of all things. What is it that does not distinguish types? For example, the eye and so on, and form and so on, are the causes of the arising of eye consciousness, and are things of different types. But attention is not like that, because the type of attention is undifferentiated, so it is spoken of from the point of view of not distinguishing types, but the moments are each different. What is the cause of eye consciousness

That is not ear consciousness. Whatever eye consciousness is small, that is not very large. Therefore, it is said that there is no distinction of types. Why? Because the general cause of all eye consciousness, etc., is attention. The term "producing it" means that producing it in a definitive sense is producing it. "That which later arises as attention" appears to mean that it produces attention. Or it appears to be born for that purpose, which is a synonym for the meaning of consciousness or the reason for consciousness. For example, as it is extensively stated, "The leopard is killed for its skin," which means for the sake of the skin, for the reason of the skin, and for the meaning of the skin. For ivory means for the reason of ivory. For the tail means for the reason of the tail. For the woman means for the reason of the woman, which appears to be the seventh case of reason. Even if there is already an assembly of two others besides that, it means that even if there is already an assembly of the two, sense faculty and object, other than that attention. Because attention that is incompatible with this arises universally, it is a synonym for the fact that attention that is incompatible with the arising of consciousness arises universally due to the cause of the two, sense faculty and object. It also arises later, because it is separated from that, which is a synonym for being separated from attention that is incompatible with it. Furthermore, the intention of the statement in other sutras that "consciousness arises from the condition of name and form" is that it is extensively stated that it arises from the condition of name and form, which encompasses those sense faculties, objects, and attention themselves. "Encompassed" means in short. How is it? Whatever is associated with mind, those phenomena are name. Which are the five sense faculties, and, those five objects of it, that is form. Thus, it is said that consciousness arises from the condition of name and form. Moreover, in order to cause existence to arise
