If asked whether it will change, then, here, whether it is certain or uncertain, even if it is said, it will not become meaningless, just like this, teaching is because teaching is the main factor of the causes of all actions. Like this, it is taught that, in order to teach the cause, although it has been taught that "with ignorance as the cause, there are actions," it is not to teach all the causes. Then what is it? It is to explain the main cause. Therefore, teaching is not meaningless. Virtuous deeds and other actions are actions, because they are dominated by it, so-called "because they are dominated by it," refers to virtuous deeds, non-virtuous deeds, and immovable deeds, etc., which can also make sentient beings manifest all actions, because they are dominated by ignorance. This is a summary statement. In order to understand this, it is said by example that if wisdom has not arisen, then all actions will be manifested, and if wisdom has arisen, it will not be manifested. And, when everything arises, what is the cause for what reason? If asked what this is, then, the main cause of virtuous deeds and other deeds is ignorance. Just as ignorance is the universal cause when everything arises, it is taught that when all non-virtuous actions arise, because they are in accordance with all afflictions, it is the universal cause. That is to say, when the actions accomplished by greed and hatred and other afflictions and all the near afflictions arise, because it is the great earth of afflictions, ignorance is the universal cause. In any place, the cause of the actions caused by greed is not hatred. The cause of the actions caused by hatred is not greed, and so on. Just as all afflictions are caused by the cause of ignorance, so are the thoughts that correspond to it, that is to say, the thoughts that correspond to all afflictions are also like this, this is a summary statement. The cause of the arising of all afflictions, how does ignorance become the cause? What rock universally arises, how is it real?

If asked whether it is fully understood as it is, ignorance arises, then all defilements arise. As it is said, 'Merely due to ignorance, those arise,' and so on. For the time being, non-merit is like that. It is also a cause of meritorious actions, as it is extensively explained, 'When manifestly accomplishing and conforming to different existences and enjoyments.' Here, 'existence' refers to the bodies of gods and humans, and so on. 'Enjoyment' refers to objects such as forms and sounds. The difference between those existences and enjoyments is that the difference between existence and enjoyment is distinct. 'Conforming' means being the cause of whatever actions manifestly accomplish those, so it is called 'conforming to manifestly accomplishing the difference between existence and enjoyment.' When those arise, the ignorance that arises together with those is a common cause. Here, 'manifestly accomplishing' means desire: 'May I become a god! May I become a human! May my enjoyment also be excellent!' The ignorance that corresponds to that manifestly accomplishing arises together with those. As it is extensively explained, 'Also of the unwavering ones aroused by seeing that one will definitely arise in that place,' from the first dhyana to the peak of existence, seeing that one will definitely arise, desiring liberation in that place, is seeing that one will definitely arise in that place. Arousing by seeing that one will definitely arise in that place is arousing by seeing that one will definitely arise in that place. What is the ignorance that corresponds to the unwavering actions aroused by seeing that one will definitely arise in that place, the seeing that arises together with those? It is a common cause. As it is extensively explained, stating those meanings in verses, the ignorance that corresponds to other afflictions is also a cause of actions, and that which does not correspond is also a primary cause. Stating the meanings just explained in verses: 'In the causes of actions, ignorance has been taught as twofold.' That is, twofold is two kinds. How is it? That

Therefore. Afflictions are the common cause of others' possessions. The absence of that is the main cause. Thus it is said, what is it? Not having the same possessions as other afflictions is the main cause, which is its synonym. If the cause of those is also ignorance, as it is said in detail, if the cause of those afflictions is also ignorance, then only the limbs of ignorance are shown. If it is not another affliction? Ignorance is the cause of afflictions, and afflictions are also the cause of actions. How can it not lead to the reversal of limbs? Such accusations are irrelevant, because they want to talk about the main cause. Although other afflictions other than ignorance are the cause of actions, they are not the main cause. The meaning of the actions is analyzed and established here, and it should be understood as ten kinds. The analysis and establishment of the differences is as follows: How are the three kinds of actions shown, namely the action of body, the action of speech, and the action of mind? The analysis and establishment of the nature of action is as follows: How are the differences between the actions of body, speech, and mind? Here, it is meant that the actions of body, etc. How does this manifest? As it is shown in detail in the Sutra Pitaka and the logical path. The analysis and establishment of the differences is called merit, non-merit, and immovability. The nature of action is analyzed and established as follows: How is action mentioned to distinguish the differences between actions? How can one know which action can manifest? This is how it is shown. Furthermore, the analysis and establishment of the manifest actions is as follows: How does one plant what has not been planted? In the beginning, it is to establish the seed for the stream of consciousness. This is how it is shown. The analysis and establishment of the differences between the sequential connections is as follows: What is the name of the seed? What is the difference in its ability? What is the name of the ability? What is that Dharma? This is how it is shown in detail. The ultimate analysis and establishment is as follows: How long does the seed grow and remain in the stream of mind? How long does it last until the fruit is born?
