It should be combined with the case of "becoming an intermediate fault." If that is the case, dependent origination becomes ten limbs, because it is said in the scriptures that all pervasive afflictions, including all those that are completely entangled, are to be taken. Mentioning the scriptures is because the Sautrāntika school considers intention and desire to be the proximate cause. For example, although it has already been explained that the cause of the lotus is the root, the detailed explanation does not say that ignorance has no cause. Even if it already exists, it is not spoken of because of the need or lack of need. Therefore, saying "I have realized it" is because there is still a need to say something else, and from where should we begin to explain the order of arising based on what? Therefore, by this, the objection that because the cause of ignorance is not mentioned, cyclic existence will have a beginning, the limbs will be superfluous, and those situations will have no end, does not exist. If that is the case, then there is still a need to say something else, and from where should we begin to explain the order of arising based on what? If from where we begin to explain, and from where we begin to explain already exists, then because that cause is not mentioned, cyclic existence will have a beginning, this objection will be refuted. Therefore, in that case, there is no reason to object. For what purpose are the twelve limbs explained? That itself, which is explained in detail, has no reason to object. The cause of ignorance is its own kind. That itself, which is explained in detail, does not mention other limbs after old age and death. If that is the case, from where do we explain other limbs after old age and death? Even if other limbs are not mentioned, not mentioning other limbs, this objection will be refuted, and there will be no fault of saying that cyclic existence has an end. Therefore, that itself does not mention other limbs after old age and death, this is explained in detail. Furthermore, that itself is also explained in detail. For what purpose are the twelve limbs explained? That itself, which is spoken of, even if other limbs are not mentioned after old age and death, there will be no fault of saying that cyclic existence has an end.

It will not change, because the classification of the twelve branches is completely finished. If someone asks, how is it shown when it touches? Because the sutra says that relying on name and form, the mind that arises from ignorance is born. Showing feeling also shows ignorance, which is explained in detail. This sutra says that feeling is the condition for existence, and feeling without ignorance is not the condition for existence, such as an Arhat. Therefore, here showing feeling also shows ignorance. It is said that the non-virtuous attention that arises simultaneously with contact is the cause of ignorance that arises simultaneously with feeling. The aggregate of ignorance, contact, refers to things that are similar to ignorance. What arises from that is what arises from the aggregate of ignorance, contact. Everything else that is said in other sutras will not be mentioned here, because that would become too lengthy. To the extent that it can be reasonably inferred, the Kashmir Vaibhashikas say that even if the conditions other than ignorance and old age and death are not mentioned, it will not lead to the conclusion that samsara has a beginning and an end, because in this sutra, afflictions, karma, and things are shown as causes. How does affliction arise from affliction? From craving arises craving and grasping. Karma also arises, from ignorance arises action, and from grasping arises existence. From karma also arise things, from action arises consciousness, and from existence arises birth. From things arise things, from consciousness arises name and form, and from name and form arises the six sense bases, and so on. The afflictions of birth and old age and death also arise from things, and from feeling arises existence. In this way, the cause of ignorance is affliction and things, or it is things, it should be understood. Old age and death produce things or afflictions. Therefore, this cannot be refuted. The so-called "What is ignorance?" This negative form means that non-knowing is ignorance, which is a way of negation, and the so-called "way" is to exclude non-ways, and it is not a different meaning.
