In order to generate (right) view, there are two causes and two conditions, namely, the sound of others and internal proper attention. The sound of others is not the causal condition of right view. What is it then? It is the objective condition. Similarly, that proper attention is not the causal condition of undefiled right view. What is it then? It is the dominant condition. Similarly, saying that Brahma is the self, is the cause, is showing the cause, etc., what is said does not only refer to the causal condition. What is it then? It is all conditions. The word "etc." should also be used for other words that have the meaning of cause. In this way, the word "cause" does not only refer to the causal condition. Therefore, those should not be taken as whispers, because by saying "cause," it is as if the immediate conditions, etc., are mentioned. Ignorance, etc., are not dependent arising, then what are they? They are dependently arisen, which is said following other sutras. The Kashmirian Vaibhashikas divide ignorance, etc., into cause and effect, and say that they are dependent arising and dependently arisen. Therefore, the teacher extensively said that the Blessed One has already said so in other sutras. What is the classification of dependent arising? Starting from "What is the classification of dependent arising," it shows the classification of ignorance, etc. Ignorance, etc., are not dependent arising, then what are they? They are dependently arisen, what is the intention of what is said? Therefore, dependent arising refers to the nature of all phenomena that have arisen, it is the general characteristic, and it is extensively explained as such. To arise from what has not arisen means that if the collection of causes exists beforehand, then it will arise later. All ignorance, etc., arise from what has not arisen, therefore, dependent arising refers to the general characteristic of phenomena that have arisen, so how can other classifications be shown? It is said that

"Coming from what has not arisen" means, how can the Dharma of dependent arising, which is indivisible, be divided into another different form and shown? The intention here is that it cannot be established as different from those, because it is a Dharma that depends on them. Just as how can aging be shown apart from having become old? It means that it is manifested from signs such as white hair, but it cannot be shown apart from those. How can what is indivisible be divided? It's like that. Furthermore, impermanence itself cannot be specifically distinguished from impermanence, because it is a Dharma that depends on it. The indivisible Dharma of impermanence also cannot show its division, because non-things are of the same essence. Those are the three characteristics of conditioned phenomena: arising, ceasing, and change while abiding. Among them, arising is excellently shown by first explaining dependent arising. Change while abiding is shown by distinguishing aging. Ceasing is shown by distinguishing death. Among them, showing arising refers to a specific thing that arises from "what has not arisen," but not just to the thing itself. Showing "change while abiding" refers to the difference between the earlier and later of a continuum, but not just to the continuum itself. Showing "ceasing" refers to something that arises and then disappears, but not just to the disappearance itself. There, whatever is dependent arising, "there" (དེར་) refers to that Sutra (མདོ་སྡེ་). "Here it is said that dependent arising is the first," "here" (འདིར་) refers to this Sutra (མདོ་སྡེ་). In that Sutra, it is said that "this existing, that arises; this arising, that arises" is dependent arising, but here, it is said that dependent arising is the first. There, whatever Dharma of dependent arising, such as ignorance, is said to be dependent arising here. Just like your depend

The various distinctions of ignorance will be explained. In order to explain the various distinctions of ignorance and so on, it is said that ignorance and so on are dependent origination. Therefore, this category of Dharma is spoken with reference to dependent origination, so it is explained in detail. As it is said, the letters should also be established according to the circumstances. In order to show its sutra and extensive explanation, what is the meaning of showing and explaining? Some people think that arising and occurring have different meanings, and these people are Abhidharma masters. It is also necessary to exclude from these people, so how does the detailed arising occur? Therefore, in order to show that it is a law that can be examined, these words are spoken. Starting from the various distinctions of dependent origination, showing the various distinctions of the Dharma of dependent origination is to show that dependent origination is a law that can be examined. Because for that which will become different, it is necessary to explain the various distinctions of itself. What is called word arising from word, from what word does it arise? What are the dharmas of dependent origination? What is said from ignorance to old age and death, from where does the word arise, that is, if ignorance is also dependent origination, this is the detailed arising. How to start from the category of Dharma with cause, with condition, and with basis? Monks, ignorance is also with cause, with condition, and with definite arising. Monks, what is the cause of ignorance? What is the condition? What is definitely arising? The cause of ignorance is inappropriate attention. The condition is also inappropriate attention. What is definitely arising is also inappropriate attention. This is its meaning. In the Mahagarbha Sutra, it is also said that the five obscurations are also. The five obscurations are to accomplish and abide in the nature of ignorance, and exist with the meaning of maintaining its continuity. The five obscurations are desire for desire, malice, excitement, regret, and
