Name and form should be stated without distinction. From the aggregates of linking, when the second moment arises, there is no other change. Regarding the order of cessation, it is extensively stated in the scriptures that with the cessation of ignorance, actions cease; with the cessation of actions, consciousness ceases; with the cessation of consciousness, name and form cease; with the cessation of name and form, the six sense sources cease; with the cessation of the six sense sources, contact ceases; with the cessation of contact, feeling ceases; with the cessation of feeling, craving ceases; with the cessation of craving, grasping ceases; with the cessation of grasping, becoming ceases; with the cessation of becoming, birth ceases; with the cessation of birth, aging and death cease. If it is considered that the cessation of the order of cessation, etc., is complete destruction, then it is equivalent to admitting that the complete destruction of the cause leads to the complete destruction of the effect, which would harm the view of momentary impermanence. Ignorance is the cause of actions, therefore, when it ceases, actions also cease, which means that when the cause ceases, the effect ceases. If this is the case, it would harm the view of momentary impermanence. If the cause remains until the effect arises, then it would become the complete destruction of the cause leading to the complete destruction of the effect. If this is the case, it would also harm the view of momentary impermanence, because the moment of the cause also exists at the time of the moment of the effect. Therefore, momentary impermanence is because the effect arises without interruption from the cause. If the effect arises only when the cause is completely destroyed, then how can it be established that the complete destruction of the cause leads to the complete destruction of the effect? Because when the previous birth is completely destroyed, the subsequent birth caused by it will not exist. If it is considered that the complete destruction of the cause leads to the complete destruction of the effect, then what is caused by the previous cause is the subsequent birth that is now arising. If the previous birth is completely destroyed, then the birth caused by it that is now arising will not exist. That which is not birth refers to the subsequent birth caused by the cause of the previous birth, and the complete destruction of the cause that is incompatible with this is what existed previously. The previous births cease, birth

If it becomes something else, it will also become coexistent. However, if 'cessation' means abandonment, then what should be done? Here, it refers to contemplating ignorance and so on. Therefore, 'because ignorance, craving, and grasping are abandoned simultaneously' means that ignorance, craving, and grasping, which should be abandoned by seeing suffering, are abandoned simultaneously, and it is the same up to what should be abandoned by seeing the path. As for what should be abandoned by meditation, all nine aspects of what should be abandoned by meditation are gradually or simultaneously abandoned because the antidote to the nine aspects becomes manifest. If these are abandoned, it is also established that others are abandoned, meaning that because ignorance, craving, and grasping are abandoned, it is established that actions, consciousness, name and form, the six sense sources, contact, feeling, craving, grasping, existence, birth, old age, and death are abandoned. This is the meaning to be expressed. It is unreasonable to show gradual cessation, meaning that when ignorance ceases, actions cease; when actions cease, consciousness ceases, and so on, up to birth and old age and death cease. How does it show that if these are abandoned, others are also abandoned? 'Abandonment' means the cessation of the acquisition of those with afflictions. Different from this is its object, the cessation of the acquisition of afflictions. 'If you abandon desire and attachment to the eye, by abandoning those desires and attachments, you have abandoned your eye,' because it is said in the Sutra. Therefore, 'however, this is abandoned' means showing the characteristic of abandonment. 'These are also simultaneous with ignorance and so on, not gradual, therefore it is unreasonable to show the order of cessation.' However, if 'cessation' means unborn, then 'when ignorance ceases, actions cease' means contemplating that when ignorance is unborn, actions are unborn. Similarly, up to when birth is unborn, old age and death are unborn. How can the limbs included in past and present births be unborn?
