Here, it shows what exists in one's own continuum as a condition, and it is not appropriate to place blood and semen, which exist in another's continuum, here. How can taking them there be the substance of a condition? Furthermore, the source must be stated here. This is the differentiation of existence from the explanation of dependent origination. The first and differentiation of dependent origination explained. The fourth volume, the last. What is the birth that is called birth by the condition of existence? It shows what the characteristics of birth are, where, and what of those beings that are extensively described as "those and those." "Those and those" refers to the beings of different realms, migrations, birthplaces, places, and physical substances. The connection of name and form is called "sentient being," because the continuity of connection exists by the power of attachment, so it is a definition. What is this "continuity of connection"? The continuity of connection of the substance of cause and effect is called "continuity of connection." Here, continuity is understood as attachment, that is, uninterrupted continuity. "Those and those kinds of sentient beings" refers to the collection of sentient beings that are similar to something. The extensive description of birth and extreme birth is an explanation in accordance with the meaning, and it is a synonym for birth, and it is reasonable to indicate it with other synonyms. If asked, what is birth? If asked, has this way of saying "what is birth" not appeared before? It is not that it has not appeared before, but that those have appeared before, because wisdom is prior. Similarly, it is to show that others also have no difference in meaning. The meaning of showing the distinction of states is another synonym. Just as it is thrown, the appearance of substances from name and form, etc., up to and including contact, is birth, because at that time the kinds of sentient beings are born in a similar share. After birth, the complete perfection of name and form is extreme birth. The complete perfection of name and form, going into a state where the senses are not incomplete, is transmigration. After transmigration, being born from the womb of the six sense spheres

. Entering with a manifest inclination towards the object is manifest arising, that is, arising from the womb. Abiding after birth is extreme arising. Thus, the saying that birth is caused by existence is encompassed by complete and perfect birth. As previously cast, this period from name and form to feeling is the nature of the different stages of birth. The intrinsic nature of birth is the acquisition of self-entity by sentient beings. Showing the acquisition of self-entity is to say the acquisition of aggregates individually, the acquisition of elements individually, and the acquisition of sense bases individually. Thus, the self-nature of sentient beings is threefold, because they perceive and manifestly cling to the continuum of aggregates, etc., as sentient beings. Saying threefold is to dispel the three kinds of self-grasping that think of the self as being only one, as having a body, and as that which focuses on objects. The meaning of accumulation is the meaning of aggregates, therefore, saying aggregates is to dispel the thought of a single self. "Dharma alone is life" is the element, because this is the definition, therefore, saying element is to dispel the thought that the self has a body. The eye, etc., which focus on objects, are the sense bases, but there is no self that focuses on objects, therefore, saying sense bases is to dispel the third kind of self-grasping. Thus, after extensively showing the different natures of birth with its stages, again showing it briefly, it is said that the aggregates manifestly accomplish and the life force arises extremely. Thus, it also shows the nature of the birth of sentient beings born from heat and moisture and those born miraculously. Among these, what newly arises is manifest accomplishment. The life force is what is cast by the previous actions of sentient beings, having the ability to connect a similar continuum, and thus manifestly arises in the same class, the continuum of aggregates enters and abides, and that abiding is called life. Thus, in brief, connecting in the same class and having a continuum is birth, thus it is shown. The first of the five types of birth.
