印度语:Pratītyasamutpādasya ādibibhaṅgayo nirdeśa(梵文天城体:प्रतीत्यसमुत्पादस्य आदिबिभङ्गयो नि र्देश,梵文罗马拟音:Pratītyasamutpādasya ādibibhaṅgayo nirdeśa,缘起第一分类之论述)。

Explanation of the First Division of Dependent Arising. Explanation of the First Division of Dependent Arising. In Sanskrit: Pratītyasamutpādasya ādibibhaṅgayo nirdeśa. In Tibetan: Explanation of the First Division of Dependent Arising. Volume One. Homage to all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. He who possesses wisdom, there is nothing unknowable to be known. He who possesses purity, there is nothing to be purified from the outside. He is the protector of the world, the ender of the world. I prostrate with my head to the lord of beings. The Dharma, also taught as it is by them, is peace, the place, the path, and the cause of the path. He who, having fully understood, in these three realms. Revolves like a wheel, these beings have no cycle of existence. The noble Sangha abiding in those Dharmas. Having completely transcended attachment and the defilements of assembly. With ten limbs, eight limbs, and eight divisions. Also with the fruit of the path, the fruits are also those. The Sutra of Manifestly Expressing Dependent Arising. I wish to express a slight definitive explanation. Having heard from the Lama and also seeing the desires of others. Relying on that, I will slightly investigate thoroughly. Which is the Sutra? O monks, the Sutra is called the one that explains to you the first and the divisions of dependent arising. Why is this taught? It is taught so that this great mass of suffering will arise solely. Why is that teaching taught? It is to eliminate those who do not know how one revolves in samsara without a self, and those who are associated with doubt and wrong views. I see that selflessness is the antidote to the view of self and attachment. Thus, by teaching that suffering arises without a self, it is made to be in accordance with emptiness and wishlessness. To what kind of beings is it for? It is for those who have a view of self and those who do not know the faults of samsara. How is it shown that there is no self? It is what is said as "solely," which means being separated from self and what belongs to self. Here, why is it not accepted that this is also the need? As it is said in other sutras:

Thus, the noble Shravakas, endowed with hearing, rightly see dependent origination and the dharmas of dependent origination as they are with correct wisdom, and elaborate on them, such as not following the previous extremes. Similarly, Katyayana's son, whatever is seen with correct wisdom as the arising of the world, as it truly is, does not fall into the view that the world is non-existent, up to the point of saying it is immutable. Only by abandoning the view of self can all these not arise, therefore, this is the root of what is needed here. Thus, the Blessed One has taught in this sutra. 'Dependent origination' means that the latter arises in relation to the former limb. According to that very meaning, the words of explanation should also be established according to their meaning, just like the categories of the Dharma of ultimate emptiness. In the world, it is like killing a vulture or robbing jewels. The word 'dependent' means 'from that condition', just as fire arises from relying on firewood, which appears as relying on that condition. Just as rain falls relying on clouds, which appears as from the gathering of clouds. Just as medicine grows relying on snow mountains, which appears as growing from this ground, and not just the order of time, like eating after bathing. The Blessed One also declared this meaning in other sutras: What is dependent origination? It is like this: when this exists, that arises; when this is born, that is born. This is the meaning of cause. If it is not the meaning of doing something earlier in time, then how can one know the proof of arising from this? This will be determined later. 'To you' means to you all, it is taught for your benefit. 'Monks' is a call, in order to bring the monks whose minds have wandered elsewhere into the present. Why is it only to the monks, and not to the other retinues? Because they are superior, because they are the main ones, because they are close, and because they dwell constantly.
