If you say that it should be distinguished in that way, it is not right either. This is because what is being referred to here is name and form as the cause of the six sense sources. Here, too, it refers to this, not to the term 'six sense sources.' What is the reason for this? If you say it is because everything is mentioned in the category of the great elements, then, the aspect of establishing it elsewhere has already been answered. Furthermore, if there is no mind-born or non-associated existent before contact, then what are the four aggregates of name that are conditioned by consciousness at that time? What is name below as well? If you accept it, then it is none other than the alaya-consciousness. Therefore, accept those two. This would contradict the Sutra on Entering the Womb, because the Blessed One, having made the Venerable Ananda the object of his teaching, said: 'Ananda, that which is soft and tender, the nature of the body, which arises from the impure substances of the mother and father, is form. The feeling, perception, volition, and consciousness that arise from that are name. Combining this name and the previous form, it is called name and form.' It is also said that at that time, one will obtain three faculties, namely the faculty of body, the faculty of mind, and the faculty of life. This is taught by making the four faculties included in the six sense sources the object. If it is not like that, it is meaningless. Moreover, from the Sutra of the Elders, most of the monastic communities recite: 'Ignorance and craving, likewise both unabandoned, from the actions born from that, the ripening dwells in the mother's womb. Whatever mind-born dharmas, that is called name. Born there, soft and tender, etc., that is called form.' This will lead to contradiction. Even if contradiction is written, what harm is there if it contradicts? If you say that because both of those are not within the scriptures, they are not valid cognitions, alas! Those who abide in holding their own view as supreme do not hold [this view]. Who would know that the root of the Compendium, the scriptures, and the sutras are not valid cognitions?

It exists. How do the various transmissions and recitations of the different Sarvastivada schools change? In their respective transmissions, some also say that they have compiled the contents of the Sutra Pitaka. The Blessed One has observed that the root compiled from the Sutra Pitaka and the Vinaya will decay. Like this, the speaker has spoken three kinds of words: not contradicting the Dharma nature; and, Venerable Ananda, in order to counteract the heavy attachment of desire, what is said to be of a rational nature, by what means was this Sutra subdued, like this without observing others, and it is also said in the Vinaya. In the Entering the Womb Sutra, it is said that Venerable Ananda has already realized the Arhat fruit. In the Sarvastivada Sutra, Sarvastivada and the Mahasanghika both regard everything as valid. The scattered and exhaustive Sutra Pitakas, because Sarvastivada regards everything as valid, therefore, they are not included in the transmission, therefore neither is valid, this statement itself is not valid. In the stage of name and form, the body and consciousness are not both sense bases, therefore the twelve sense bases do not include everything, thus it becomes a fault. Monks, the so-called everything everything, refers to the twelve sense bases, thus it contradicts what is said in the Sutra Pitaka. It is also said to the followers, like a seed that has not been sown, if it is said like this, then the eye and so on have already manifested and are established, if there is no contact, it will also become not a sense base. Because it is a capacity, therefore it is a sense base, if it is said like this, then what made it previously without capacity? Because of weakness, if it is said like this, then weakness for weakness is capacity, just as consciousness for the aspect of consciousness is capacity. Other Sutra Pitakas also say that the inner consciousness sense base has not decayed, and the attention that produces it abides nearby, from there the aspect of consciousness will arise. Without the consciousness sense base and attention, how will the aspect of consciousness arise? Attention, is also considered by all schools to be a mental factor, is the function of the mind, then how can it exist without contact? The Blessed One has also said about the aggregate of formation.
