If only those conditions are ignorance, and not others, then the maturation fruit of ignorance and the fruit similar to other causes will not exist. Furthermore, the Sutra says: Ignorance is for the sake of universal attachment, for the sake of universal hatred, and for the sake of universal delusion. When ignorance universally arises, defilements universally arise. All sins and non-virtuous dharmas arise universally in various ways, and all of these have ignorance as their cause. If it is said like this, it will contradict the above-mentioned scriptures. If both are definite, then it will fall into the fault of both sides. If it is indefinite, then it is meaningless to say that 'actions arise from the condition of ignorance.' If asked: Even if both definite and indefinite exist here, the teaching will not become meaningless, because teaching in this way is to show the main factor of the conditions of actions. If asked: How is ignorance the main condition of actions? Because meritorious and other actions are actions themselves, and they arise by its power; and when they universally arise, they are also general causes. For example, if consciousness does not arise, then existence will manifest again; if consciousness arises, then it will not be so. When non-meritorious actions universally arise, because they exist simultaneously with all defilements, they are general causes. Just as all defilements are universally aroused by the condition of ignorance, similarly, it is also the condition of the minds that exist simultaneously with it. It is also the cause of meritorious actions, because when the universal arising is in accordance with the manifestation of different existence and enjoyment, the ignorance that arises simultaneously with them is also a general cause. In that place, the unwavering actions aroused by seeing that they will definitely arise, the ignorance that arises simultaneously with them is also a general cause. These meanings are expressed in verses: Among the conditions of actions, ignorance is shown to be of two kinds, being equal to defilements is a general cause, without that it is the main condition.

Ena. If the number of limbs is to be determined in detail, then those meanings themselves should be clarified again. In this way, the main cause is indicated. Some people argue like this: Since the cause of actions (འདུ་བྱེད།) is also other afflictions, why is only ignorance shown to be the cause? If the cause of those is also ignorance, then how will the limbs not become too numerous? This objection is unreasonable. The classification of actions is complete. "Explanation of the First Chapter and Classification of Dependent Arising." Second Chapter. Consciousness arises from the cause of actions, so what is the consciousness called consciousness? The so-called "collection of consciousnesses is six," if the literal meaning of this sentence is explained, then temporarily explaining and determining in detail will lead to a better understanding of the ultimate intention. Among them, the Blessed One shows the classification of consciousness through the classification of faculties, but if the different capacities of the beings to be tamed are considered, then the essence is not so. For example, in some places, the classification is not shown either. The word "collection" also indicates the classification of objects, because each of the eye consciousnesses, etc., is shown in many forms. If it were not so, then it would only be said that there are six consciousnesses. Why is the classification from the collection of eye consciousness to the collection of mind consciousness not mentioned? Because the meaning of the word "collection" has already been explained, and it is shown that there is no other collection besides consciousness. So what is eye consciousness? Relying on the eye faculty and separately recognizing forms, this is eye consciousness. Similarly, for the consciousnesses in between, it should be stated appropriately. If separately recognizing forms, etc., is consciousness, then why is it only said to be eye consciousness and not form consciousness? Similarly, why not up to dharma consciousness? Because the eye faculty, etc., only belong to the category of sentient beings, and are common and uncommon.
