It is neither the basis nor the support of... and it does not depend on others, therefore it is without body. In conventional truth, it is not like the characteristic of wisdom that completely distinguishes all phenomena, nor does it abide in such a state, therefore it is without characteristics. It does not grasp any characteristics of the eight aspects of wisdom, which are described below, therefore it is without characteristics. In order to explain the nature of wisdom in detail and then summarize it, it is said, "That is with all characteristics and mental activities," etc., meaning that the wisdom of the nature of non-discrimination, which abandons all characteristics. It is also connected with all the words of "not coexisting," not coexisting with all characteristics and mental activities, not coexisting with mind, not coexisting with intellect, is the meaning. Among them, because it is not mixed with all the mental activities that cling to the characteristics of contaminated and uncontaminated, it is called not coexisting with all characteristics and mental activities. Because it is not mixed with the alaya consciousness that accumulates various habits of virtue and non-virtue, and takes the fruit after maturation, it is called not coexisting with mind. Because it is not defiled by the afflicted mind that does not coexist with the four afflictions such as pride that clings to "I" and "mine," and attachment arising from me, it is called not coexisting with intellect. Because it is not mixed with the consciousness that enters through the eyes, etc., which takes objects such as form as its object and relies on the alaya consciousness, it is called not coexisting with consciousness. The place is the faculties from the eye faculty, which is the support of eye consciousness, to the mind faculty, which is the support of mind consciousness. Because it does not rely on those faculties, it does not coexist with the place. Names are form, sound, smell, taste, etc., eye, ear, etc., samsara and nirvana, etc., and names that are falsely established such as Devadatta and offering, because it is not defiled by these, it does not coexist with names. The objects of perception such as form and sound are characteristics, because it is not mixed with these characteristics, it does not coexist with characteristics. The subject

I, regarding the nature of phenomena, as well as the conventional and the ultimate, with outflows and without outflows, conditioned and unconditioned, consider them to be suchness and other, one and different. Because it is not mixed with such elaborations, it is called that one and different cannot coexist. Having thus explained the nature of wisdom, in order to show its object, it is said, "Then, what is the object of wisdom?" etc. Among them, the meaning of "then" is to distinguish from others, or to regard it as an introduction. "What is the object of wisdom?" is a question, meaning, what is the object that wisdom focuses on, or what is the object that wisdom comprehends? In order to answer the question, it is said, "For example, being skilled in the eight dharmas." "For example" is an introduction, or it serves as an adornment of words. Comprehending and realizing the eight dharmas is being skilled in the eight dharmas. Therefore, the eight dharmas are the object of wisdom. This should be understood as according to the teachings and according to reason. Among them, starting from according to the teachings, "What is being skilled in the eight dharmas?" For example, it is said, "Being skilled in the aggregates, being skilled in the realms," etc. Starting from according to reason, it is said, "Then, what is a Bodhisattva's skill in the aggregates?" etc. Or, in order to show the number, name, metaphor, and detailed classification, it is said, "Then, what is the object of wisdom?" etc. "For example, being skilled in the eight dharmas" shows the number. "What is being skilled in the eight dharmas?" For example, "Being skilled in the aggregates" etc. shows the name. "Then, what is a Bodhisattva's skill in the aggregates?" This is showing the metaphor of the aggregates, that is, showing "a collection of water bubbles" etc. Why? Because "form is like a collection of water bubbles" etc., it shows the detailed classification. Among them, "then" is a word of distinction, distinguishing through the eight skills, wanting to show skill in the aggregates. Among them, the meaning of aggregates is, any slight form, whether past, future, present, internal, external, coarse, subtle, inferior, or excellent.
