Measuring objects with direct perception is conceptualization. Measuring objects with inference is discrimination. Measuring objects with scriptural authority is complete conceptualization. Blue and yellow, as well as nirvana and samsara, are called signs. Form, sound, smell, taste, etc., are objects. Seeing is with the eye. Hearing is with the ear. Discriminating differences is with the mind. Cognition is with the remaining consciousnesses. Alternatively, seeing, etc., are as previously explained. The statement "not coexisting with all knots and superimpositions" means not only not coexisting with the previous knots and superimpositions, but also indicating that it does not coexist with the bonds of a Bodhisattva and other superimpositions on objects. The terms "self" and "permanent," etc., indicate non-mixture with perversion. The statement "not coexisting with the eighty-four thousand mental activities of sentient beings," etc., indicates non-mixture with unfavorable factors and antidotes. The eighty-four thousand mental activities of sentient beings are unfavorable factors. The eighty-four thousand aggregates of Dharma are antidotes. The same applies to the rest. Among them, sentient beings have twenty-one thousand activities of desire, twenty-one thousand activities of hatred, twenty-one thousand activities of delusion, and twenty-one thousand activities of equanimity, totaling eighty-four thousand. Among them, the antidote to desire is twenty-one thousand aggregates of Dharma, the antidote to hatred is twenty-one thousand aggregates of Dharma, the antidote to delusion is twenty-one thousand aggregates of Dharma, and the antidote to equanimity is twenty-one thousand aggregates of Dharma, thus totaling eighty-four thousand aggregates of Dharma. Among them, not giving away acquired objects such as treasures and grains is miserliness. The opposite of that is giving. Killing, taking what is not given, sexual misconduct, etc., are engaging in non-virtuous actions, which is being a person of immoral conduct. Abstaining from killing, etc.

Returning is discipline. The thought of harming beings with beatings and bindings, etc., is harmful intent. Not harming beings with beatings and bindings, etc., and even if harm is done, not harming again is patience. Not rejoicing in and not entering into the virtuous side is laziness, and the opposite of that is diligence. The mind wandering to external objects is distraction. The mind being one-pointed on the object of focus is meditation. Holding on to the characteristics of the Dharma in a reversed way is immoral wisdom. Discriminating the characteristics of the Dharma in a non-reversed way is wisdom. There are five types of lineages, such as definite and indefinite: the lineage of Hearers, the lineage of Solitary Buddhas, the lineage of the Great Vehicle, the indefinite lineage, and the lineage-less. Among them, individuals without lineage are definite, because they will undoubtedly remain in samsara forever. Lineages that are definite in the three vehicles are indefinite, because they may also enter nirvana due to the circumstances of a virtuous friend, so it is not definite that they will remain in the three realms. Alternatively, the three types of lineages are definite, because they will undoubtedly obtain the result by relying on their respective vehicles. The indefinite lineage is indefinite, because they will enter any vehicle due to the circumstances of a virtuous friend, and if they do not encounter a virtuous friend, they will undoubtedly enter nirvana. Those who have entered the correct view are called upright, because they view karma and its results, the Three Jewels, and truth, etc., as existing. Those who are attached to wrong views are called evil, because they believe that karma and its results, truth, and the Three Jewels, etc., do not exist. Alternatively, the Blessed One spoke of three types of assemblies: the assembly that is definitely upright, the assembly that is definitely evil, and the assembly that is indefinite. Among them, the assembly that is definitely upright is the noble ones, who have completely abandoned desire, completely abandoned hatred, and completely abandoned ignorance; they are definitely those whose afflictions are exhausted.
