Those who are wise in vastness and those who are profound in wisdom, these two are unsurpassed because they make sentient beings fully mature, which others do not have. By liberation without obscuration and dwelling in wisdom, it is shown that full maturation is meaningful. Unlike the liberation of a Hearer, which abides in the obscuration of knowable things, the liberation of a Bodhisattva is in no way obscured, and abiding in wisdom is in no way obscured, that is its meaning. Making liberation valuable in two ways is accomplished by wisdom. So, what is this wisdom like? It is also said to abide in unobstructed wisdom. By completely and thoroughly transcending all concepts, various concepts, and elaborations, it is shown that maturation increases. Concepts are coarse concepts. Various concepts are subtle concepts. That concept itself is not a sign of a non-peaceful mind, so it is called elaboration. Abandoning those is completely and thoroughly transcending. Merely being close to the state of omniscience shows that maturation is without fault. This is the meaning of the Buddha being close to obtaining all light, which also shows the perfect result. A Bodhisattva is called the god of electricity. Electricity means change and non-attention. God means play or action. Playing or acting on the Dharma of non-attention, that is its meaning. A Bodhisattva is called victorious, which means victory over the battlefield of the enemy of afflictions. A Bodhisattva is called the essence of various appearances, meaning having radiant light and various forms. Such an essence is the place of origin. Or, for the benefit of sentient beings, appearing as various things that are sentient and non-sentient, that is the essence, and that which itself becomes the main thing is called the essence. A Bodhisattva is called brave with ability, which means having the ability to obtain and suppress those who have not obtained the higher ground. A Bodhisattva is called completely destroying doubt, which means destroying doubt about truth and the Three Jewels, etc. A Bodhisattva is called sound fully proclaimed.

It is the proclamation of the various sounds of the lion's roar of the Dharma. The Bodhisattva called "Eye of Perfect Vision" is so called because he perfectly sees the various benefits of sentient beings with the eye of wisdom. The Bodhisattva called "Free from Darkness" is so called because he has abandoned all the darkness of ignorance. The one called "Maitreya" is so called because he is always in meditative equipoise on the samadhi of loving-kindness. The one called "Manjushri" is so called because when the Tathagata Jewel Essence was before the Chakravartin King, the son of the Wheel's Circumference, who was called the Assembly of the Powerful, generated the mind of enlightenment, that Bhagavan said: "Son of good family, because you are greatly endowed with qualities and wisdom, therefore, for the sake of all sentient beings, you have made such excellent and supreme auspicious intelligence, and because you have taken up the excellent qualities of the Buddha-field, son of good family, you shall be called Manjushri." And so forth, of the countless Bodhisattvas, here, those who are the main ones, only a small portion of qualities in accordance with them are mentioned. The others are included in the "and so forth." Such a retinue, and the Bhagavan dwells in one place. Here, the retinue of the noble Hearers is mentioned first, and the Bodhisattvas are mentioned later, because the noble Hearers have few concerns and few activities, and rely on the Tathagata, and always reside in attendance, so they are mentioned first. The Bodhisattvas do not rely on others, but go to various realms for the benefit of various sentient beings, so they are not fixed, and therefore are mentioned later. The occasion for the discourse is also shown in seven aspects: the perfection of the teaching, the perfection of the rays of light in accordance with the teaching, the perfection of the basis of the teaching, the perfection of the expression of the great essence of the teacher, the perfection of the certain and indubitable words, the perfection of praising the virtues of others by the Tathagata who dwells here in response to questions, and the perfection of showing great power. Then, the Bhagavan, the Bodhisattva's

From the beginning of "Entering into Conduct" and "Definite Departure," up to "clearly revealing and truly showing," it demonstrates the perfection of the teachings. Then, the Blessed One, from the beginning of "The Chapter of the Great Assembly of Such Utterly Determined Meaning," up to "body and mind are utterly satisfied, and one knows oneself to be endowed with all happiness," demonstrates the perfect radiance that accords with the teaching. In the jeweled courtyard, the Blessed One, from "in front of" to "coming together, these are the omens of their arrival," demonstrates the perfect foundation. After the Blessed One spoke thus, not long after, from "then, at that time" to "together with the retinue, they sat in the lotus posture in those lotus wombs," demonstrates the perfection of expressing the great self-nature that teaches. Then, by the power of the Buddha, the venerable Shariputra rose from his seat, from "rose" to "the absence of going and coming is the conduct of the noble ones," demonstrates the perfect speech of certainty. Then, the venerable Sharadvatiputra said to the Bodhisattva Inexhaustible Intelligence, "Thus spoke," from "Thus spoke" to "Wherever there are such pure Bodhisattvas dwelling, such Buddha-fields are very rare," through questions and answers, demonstrates the perfection of praising the other qualities of the Tathagata residing here. Then, the venerable Sharadvatiputra, from "Sharadvatiputra" to "coming from immeasurable Buddha-fields in the ten directions to listen to the Dharma," demonstrates the perfection of showing great power. Then, the Blessed One and others revealed the body and qualities of the Sutra. As mentioned before, in that place, dwelling together with such a retinue, he spoke such a Sutra. Connect the words "clearly revealing" that appear with the following text. The nature of this Sutra is "Entering the Conduct of a Bodhisattva" and "The Door of Definite Departure Without Obstruction," which is the conduct of a Bodhisattva.
