That which is collected. It is also explained by way of detailed differentiation and concise summarization. The twenty-nine phrases concerning the entering and abiding of the mind explain the detailed differentiation. The final three phrases explain the concise summarization. The creation of the mind of enlightenment refers to initially generating the mind of enlightenment, and so forth. The pacification of the mind of enlightenment is that which is without creation and spontaneously accomplished. It should be widely applied to everything according to skillful means, wisdom, and order. Although one looks upon sentient beings with great compassion, because wisdom does not fixate on sentient beings as being real, it should be applied to the patience of selflessness. Although all sentient beings are gathered by the four objects of gathering, because wisdom does not grasp any dharma as being real, it should be applied to not grasping all dharmas. Samsara refers to the three realms. One should, with skillful means, not be discouraged by the suffering of samsara for the sake of sentient beings, and also practice for the benefit of sentient beings. And with wisdom, one should not fixate on the three realms either. The six perfections and so forth, the easier ones below, have not been explained. They should be applied in accordance with those, similarly. The mind not being wounded refers to not being wounded by the thoughts of "I am endowed with patience," and so forth, as it is explained in the context of inexhaustible patience. The mind being solitary refers to abandoning non-virtue and not thinking about any virtuous actions. Thinking definitely about the mind refers to thinking about the mind that is separate from all elaborations. Applying properly refers to applying those dharmas sought through hearing, such as the thirty-two applications in the context of inexhaustible wisdom. Teaching the Dharma with the collection of names, words, and letters, as heard from a virtuous friend and so forth, is the entering of the mind. Although names and so forth are used to designate terms and express them, because the nature of reality cannot be expressed, recognizing that the nature of reality is inexpressible is the abiding of the mind. Therefore, it is said: "By what and what and who is name, what and what dharmas are spoken, in that that is not there, that is the nature of reality of all dharmas." The complete cessation of elaboration refers to abandoning the accumulation of wisdom, the thoughts of hearing and thinking, and so forth. Equanimity with correct knowledge

is not to discriminate about love for sentient beings, etc. Exhaustion of outflows is the sixth superknowledge; to make it manifest is to familiarize oneself with it. Without mindfulness and attention means that because mindfulness is well established, those individual characteristics of the body, etc., that are attended to are not perceived. The dharma without faculties is the completely pure realm of dharma, because it is beyond the scope of the faculties. The wisdom that cannot be overcome is that which has become the very nature of strength, meaning that it is not overcome by opposing forces such as lack of faith. The perfect arising of the limbs of enlightenment means the act of generating the seven limbs of enlightenment. The wisdom that is skilled in thoroughly discriminating dharmas is the wisdom that realizes the suchness of dharmas without error on the first ground. The meaning of the word "nowhere to go" is that the meaning of the path is the meaning of seeking, so nowhere to go is a synonym for being separated from seeking the path because one has already gone to the place. The peaceful mind of calm abiding is that which has already become one-pointed due to the power of seeking calm abiding. Understanding the cause is to understand that the cause in the category of all afflictions is ignorance, etc., and that the cause of purification is the cessation of ignorance, etc. Knowing all causes is not to perceive those causes. To be diligent in the Dharma is to practice as one has heard from the words of others. The adornment of the body is to strive to obtain marks and signs, etc. The nature of the body is not to perceive the body and its adornments. The adornment of speech is to strive to obtain the five or sixty limbs of the Tathagata's speech, or to possess countless thousands. The noble one who does not speak is one who has abandoned the elaboration of speech and abides in establishing the mind correctly within. Without action is to be separated from the door of practicing liberation. In order to show the collection of entering and abiding, what is entering into that? It is said that whatever is seen as a means, etc., are the means of generating the mind of enlightenment and maturing sentient beings, etc., and engaging in the conduct of bodhisattvas, and relying on names and symbols, etc., the entrances of terminology are the mind.
