In order to accomplish its cause, it should be known that the conduct spoken of in this sutra is inexhaustible, and for each of the eighty inexhaustibles, it should be applied extensively. A Bodhisattva who abides in inexhaustible giving is called a Bodhisattva who practices all beneficial dharmas. To show this, it is said that the giving of Bodhisattvas is also inexhaustible, and so on. Inexhaustible giving is of three kinds: fully enjoying the result, the purity of the nature of abandoning unfavorable factors, and the purity of the nature of fully embracing the antidote. By these, it should be known that giving is inexhaustible. Fully enjoying the result also has two kinds of distinctions: outer and inner giving. Among them, outer giving is shown from giving food to those who desire food, to giving up all amusements. Inner giving is shown from giving feet to giving bone marrow and shinbones. These also show the perfection of the kingdom of inner qualities by the example of completely abandoning the outer kingdom. Therefore, outer giving has twenty-four meanings in summary: perfect enjoyment, perfect complete enjoyment, perfect gate of intention of the power of complete enjoyment, perfect happiness of mind by remembering loving beings, perfect happiness of mind by remembering treasures, perfect music, perfect fame and praise, perfect fragrance arising from oneself, perfect taste of food, perfect retinue and entourage, perfect bedding, perfect great seat, perfect adornment of the seat, perfect touch of the seat, perfect possession of autonomy, perfect knowledge of the great man, perfect overwhelming power of the great retinue, perfect great complete embrace, perfect Dharma, perfect skill in thinking about what is needed, perfect power, perfect wife, and completely giving away wealth, grain, treasures, and granaries, as well as villages and cities, and so on.

The two words of giving show the complete power. Others are connected one by one in order. The inner giving is, the eight meanings in summary are the perfection of place, the perfection of distributing and nurturing beings, the perfection of the power to subdue oneself, the perfection of being heedless with discrimination at the edge of karma, the cutting off of punishment by subduing disputes, the meaning of benefiting others is complete, the perfection of living closely with the fruit of enjoyment, and the perfection of the body has two aspects: the body is extremely soft, and it is shown by transforming into the essence body, starting from the giving of feet and connecting in order. Food can do five things, such as exhausting life from hunger, weakening courage from hunger, suffering from thirst, being powerless from weakness, and having an unsightly complexion from thinness. If food is given, then life and courage, happiness, strength, and complexion will be closely shown. Therefore, the Bodhisattva should also, in order to closely show the immeasurable life of the Tathagata, unobstructed courage, the happiness of samadhi and equanimity, inconceivable power, and the beautiful color of hair, give food to those who want food. Drink can eliminate the thirst of beings tormented by thirst, so the Bodhisattva should also, in order to eliminate all his own afflictions and thirst, give drink to those who want drink. Afflictions refer to anger and so on. Thirst refers to the re-emergence of existence, having joyful desire, and manifesting joy in this and that. Because it is the main factor in connecting the three realms, it is specifically mentioned by name among the afflictions. Riding can eliminate the suffering of fatigue and so on, and the two riches of reaching the place to go, so the Bodhisattva should also, in order to obtain the happiness of the Tathagata abandoning all diseases, and all the riches of the world and beyond, give palanquins and other riding tools. Clothes can cover the limbs and dirt of the body, etc.

To cover up the ugliness of brokenness and to appear unsightly in the eyes of others, Bodhisattvas also conceal the faults and imperfections of misdeeds. To cultivate self-respect and to feel shame for the sake of others, they give clothes as offerings. Similarly, to purify the Tathagata's body to be like the color of gold, they give clothes to those who need them. A lamp dispels darkness and allows all things that should be seen to be visible, so Bodhisattvas also give lamps as offerings so that the Tathagata's divine eye can fully see all the coarse and subtle forms, near and far, in all the three thousand great thousand worlds. The sound of music pleases the ears of sentient beings, so Bodhisattvas also give the sound of music as an offering so that the Tathagata's divine ear can hear all sounds, great and small, without obstruction in the three thousand great thousand worlds, and become more pure and vast. Incense refers to various kinds of incense. Anointing oil refers to sandalwood and other fragrant balms, which emit fragrance, so incense and anointing oil are given as offerings so that the Tathagata may possess the virtues of discipline and so on. A garland of flowers refers to strung-together flowers, which do not scatter when shaken and are not wasted, so garlands of flowers are given as offerings to obtain dharani Total Retention), and the fearlessness of not forgetting the meaning of what is said, and to obtain the flowers of the thirty-seven limbs of enlightenment. Powder refers to powders of sandalwood and saffron, etc., which emit fragrance, so Bodhisattvas also give powder as an offering to obtain the pleasing body fragrance that Buddhas and Bodhisattvas naturally possess. Taste refers to sour, sweet, bitter, spicy, salty, and astringent tastes, which are perceived by the tongue, so Bodhisattvas also give offerings to obtain the best taste among the marks of a great being, that is, the great being has seven thousand veins in the throat that perceive taste and extend upwards, even
