Review: Previously it was said, "If done, it will be accomplished," but if it is not done later, regret arises, saying, "Having done it, it has become meaningless." What was done before will also be accomplished in the same way later, and because it is true, there is no regret. Previously, if it was accomplished, it will also be accomplished in the same way later, and because there is no deception later, it becomes true. Doing as it is said will not deceive, which shows that it arises from vows. Just as it was promised and vowed, accomplishing and doing it later will not deceive. Because it is done well, doing as it is said shows virtue. Because only virtuous deeds are always done, what was promised before will also be accomplished in the same way later. Because there is no subsequent addition, it is done well, which shows wisdom. Reproaching with regret, saying, "You did this wrongly," is called a subsequent addition, and if there is no such thing, it is done well. The characteristics of not forgetting are also four: not forgetting itself, being careful, not being tired, and having a sense of ownership, being enthusiastic to serve others. Among them, because there is no confusion, there is no subsequent addition, which shows not forgetting itself. Confusion is practicing sinful and unwholesome dharmas and not practicing wholesome dharmas. Not having such a situation is not having a subsequent addition, which means there is no reproach of regret like "It was wrong." Because one abides well, there is no confusion, which shows carefulness. There is no change from guarding against unwholesome dharmas or practicing wholesome dharmas, so there is no confusion. Because there is no turning back, one abides well, which shows not being tired. No one can turn one back from unsurpassed Bodhi, and one's own self will not turn back, so one abides well, which means abiding without change. Because one looks at sentient beings, there is no turning back, which shows having a sense of ownership, being enthusiastic to serve others. Because one thinks of doing things for sentient beings and pays attention to them, one will not turn back from unsurpassed Bodhi. The characteristics of a pure cause are also six: great compassion as the root, not abandoning diligence, accomplishing diligence, not being for the benefit of oneself,

There is no need for happiness, and it is transformed into happiness through the cause of benefiting others, and it is transformed into the meaning of happiness by doing the work of sentient beings. Therefore, because it is the root of great compassion, it is called "observing sentient beings," which shows the root of great compassion. The intention of the Bodhisattva is completely pure, and because it is the root and cause of great compassion, it observes the work of benefiting sentient beings. Therefore, it is called great compassion for three reasons: The great cause is because it arises from accumulating immeasurable collections of merit and wisdom. The great object is because it is directed towards all sentient beings in the three thousand great thousand worlds. The great cause is that great compassion does not arise in the minds of Hearers and Solitary Buddhas, but arises in the minds of Thus Come Ones and Bodhisattvas. Because of not being completely discouraged, it is called the root of great compassion, which shows not abandoning the application. Because there is no discouragement in doing the work of samsara and benefiting sentient beings, it is called the root of great compassion. Because of knowing the rituals for completely maturing sentient beings, it is called not being completely discouraged, which shows accomplishing the application. Because of knowing the means to completely mature and liberate sentient beings, it is called knowing the rituals, therefore, there is no discouragement in the affairs of sentient beings. Because there is no happiness for oneself, it is called knowing the rituals for completely maturing sentient beings, which shows that there is no need for happiness that is not the cause of benefiting others, that is, not even looking at one's own body and life for the sake of sentient beings. Because of not expecting a return, it is called no happiness for oneself, which shows that it is transformed into happiness through the cause of benefiting others, that is, not expecting a return for the benefit given, therefore, there is no happiness for oneself, not even looking at one's body and life. Because of no entanglement, it is called not expecting a return, which shows that doing the work of benefiting sentient beings is transformed into the meaning of happiness, that is, not being attached to the entanglement of profit and respect, therefore, not expecting a return for the benefit given. The characteristics of a completely pure object are also fivefold: the wisdom of individually showing the Dharma, not common to Hearers and Solitary Buddhas, and transformed into a state of liberation from suffering.
