The reason for saying "now it is born" is that it is born from accumulating great love that has no intention to harm sentient beings. Because of accumulating great compassion, it is said that that mind is firm in its foundation. The so-called great compassion is the root of the wisdom of omniscience. The mind of enlightenment is also firm in its foundation because it possesses great compassion. Or, the root of the mind of a Bodhisattva is great compassion, and because it arises from long-accumulated compassion, it is called firm in its foundation. That mind is the accumulation of great joy, and it is born abiding in satisfaction, faith, and supreme joy. The reason for saying that it abides in satisfaction and so on is that it arises from the accumulation of great joy. The arising of joy in the minds of past sentient beings upon seeing happiness is satisfaction. The arising of joy in the minds of present sentient beings upon seeing happiness is faith. The arising of joy in the minds of future sentient beings upon seeing happiness is abiding in supreme joy. That mind is the accumulation of great equanimity, and it is born without being moved by happiness and suffering. The reason for saying this is that it is produced by equanimity that has no attachment to happiness and no hatred to suffering. The fifth, sixth, and seventh grounds are for completely purifying perfections, immeasurables, and approaching non-abiding Nirvana, therefore the generation of the mind of those grounds is not explained. The generation of the mind of the eighth ground is also shown by the Bodhisattva engaging solely in his own work, abiding in deep Samadhi, and drawing near to the wisdom activities of the Buddhas, which is what is said, "that mind is born blessed by the blessings of all the Buddhas." In this regard, "possessing the power of all the Buddhas, or born remembered and completely embraced by all the Buddhas" are synonymous. Blessing is included in the synonyms of power, remembrance, and complete embrace. The generation of the mind of the ninth ground, also because it solely engages in its own work, reaching the extreme of maturing sentient beings, therefore the Buddhas appear.

It shows that pride and so on are continuous and uninterrupted. That is, because this mind does not cut off the lineage of the Three Jewels, it is said to be born in an uninterrupted manner. Here, "manner" refers to the method that prevents the Buddha's teachings from declining and disappearing. Bodhicitta is the greatest method to achieve this goal, so it is said "in order not to interrupt the lineage of the Three Jewels", because it is its cause. It also shows that the Bodhisattva of the Tenth Ground generates Bodhicitta because he has obtained the power to act alone. That is, it is said that this mind is born famously in the mandala of the retinue of all Buddha lands in the ten directions. Some people, if they generate Bodhicitta, will tell each other, saying that so-and-so deva, etc., has generated Bodhicitta, because the Buddha will make it widely known. It is always said starting from the complete collection of fruits, such as the venerable Sharadvatiputra's "mind of omniscience" and so on. Always completely collecting the fruits is also shown in three ways: Which three? Completely grasping the limbs of completely pure qualities, completely understanding that the place and the inhabitants are completely related; with the characteristics of having the Dharma, the Vinaya limbs of completely pure discipline are shown in the Sutra and in detail; in order to collect the remaining Buddha Dharma, the particularly excellent parts of the qualities are shown briefly. Among them, with completely grasping the limbs of completely pure qualities, the place and the inhabitants are related, the meaning of the venerable Sharadvatiputra's "mind of omniscience" is, because the samadhis are inexhaustible, the Bodhicitta is born from the root of those samadhis, it is shown up to here, is there any exhaustion in such a mind of omniscience? Because Bodhicitta is the cause of the wisdom of omniscience, it is called the mind of omniscience. Or, the nature of Bodhicitta is no different from omniscience, because it is the nature of omniscience, it is called the mind of omniscience, is there any exhaustion in such a mind? This is asked of Shariputra.
