Blue, long, and short, etc., are the appearances of form, but in reality, they refer to the appearance of the eye. Thus, the appearance of the eye is not an object of perception, or it is not the cause of the arising of the appearance of the eye, so it is called a non-abiding place. The rest should also be applied accordingly. In order to show the abandonment of perversion, the remembrance of the Buddha, etc., are mentioned. These things mentioned by name show that they do not focus on existence and non-existence, are completely beyond conceptualization, have no elaboration of speech, mind, and body, have no names, do not fall into the liberation of the Shravakas, have no connection, are beyond thought, realize the selflessness of the individual, have no cause of affliction, transcend the limits of before and after, are naturally pure because they are free from the adventitious stains of grasping and being grasped, the taste of worldly equipoise, which is pleasing to the mind, transcends the happiness of the body, is naturally nirvana, the fruit has manifested, transcends the initiation of diligence, transcends the nature of the five aggregates, has no addition or subtraction, has no alaya consciousness, has no three kinds of feelings, so there is no attachment to anything, is unborn, does not depend on the collection of mind and mental factors, is unparalleled, is free from taking other aggregates, has no afflictions, is free from the five aggregates, is naturally peaceful, enters the realm of Dharma, and is shown not to be produced by the senses and objects. Among them, remembering the Buddha refers to the aforementioned remembering the Buddha. The so-called non-abiding in all objects of focus means not focusing on existence and non-existence. All objects of focus either focus on existence or focus on non-existence. At that time, one neither focuses on existence nor focuses on non-existence, so it is called non-abiding in all objects of focus. The so-called not possessing all characteristics means completely transcending conceptualization. The attachment, aversion, and ignorance of characteristics, as well as birth,

and the conceptualizations of women, etc. Because such characteristics do not arise in the mind, it is called insufficiency. The absence of all causes of movement, thought, and action indicates the absence of elaboration through speech, thought, and body. Uttering words is movement, thinking in the mind is thought, and physical activity is action. When all three are absent, there is no cause. Not generating seeing, hearing, distinguishing, and recognizing indicates the absence of names. Because seeing, etc., do not name other things, having abandoned all of them, it is called unborn. Not following the characteristics of the senses and all liberations indicates not falling into the liberation of the Hearers. The senses are faith, etc., through which liberation is attained. Liberation is the Nirvana of the Hearers, where liberation is attained. Even when focusing on emptiness, one does not fall into the Nirvana of the Hearers, so it is called not following. The absence of connection from one mind to another indicates the absence of connection. The continuous arising of subsequent moments of mind after the previous moment is called connection from one mind to another. At that time, because subsequent moments do not follow the previous moment of mind, it is called no connection. All things without conceptualization and special conceptualization are completely pacified, which means transcending speculation. Conceptualization of afflictions such as desire and hatred is conceptualization, and conceptualization of purified things such as faith and wisdom is conceptualization. Because at that time there is no conceptualization of either of these, it is called completely pacified. Destroying faults, subsequent attachment, and anger indicates realizing the selflessness of persons. Attachment and anger themselves are faults, so they are called faults. Realizing the selflessness of persons, the palm of the hand and the sky are the same, like holding a box and sandalwood as similar, because that itself does not exist, it is called destroyed. The complete cessation of the characteristics of causes indicates the absence of things like the cause of afflictions.
