Accomplishing activities. Transforming from many into immeasurable means that the dedication of offerings such as generosity is completely pure, thus becoming immeasurable. Subduing differentiated beings means subduing beings who are differentiated from each other, as well as those who are separated from the roots of virtue, and establishing them in the roots of virtue. Abiding in the lower, middle, and upper levels means acting and teaching in accordance with the three capacities of beings: lower, middle, and upper. Falling from the wisdom of transcending suffering into the wisdom of samsara means guiding to transcend suffering, or attaining transcendence of suffering through practice, but not abiding in that, also acting in and entering samsara. "Wisdom" here refers to guidance or practice. Seeking bondage from liberation means that although liberated from the bondage of afflictions and so on, in order to benefit beings, one skillfully demonstrates being together with afflictions. Exhausting the knowable, yet not falling into the exhaustion of the knowable, means that although the knowable dharmas of conditioned and unconditioned phenomena are exhausted and understood as emptiness, one does not abandon acting in all ways with skillful means, therefore one does not fall into the extreme of emptiness. Disrupting all conduct, yet not declining from conduct, means that when benefiting beings with skillful means, even if one arises from practices such as meditation and samadhi, one will not decline from the meaning of meditation and samadhi. Viewing beings as the path of discipline means that it is not like the noble Shravakas and so on who lack skillful means, but rather acting for the benefit of beings itself is the discipline of a Bodhisattva, therefore seeing the benefit of beings, one does not rely on the Pratimoksha vows. Relying on gathering, not on disputation, and so on, is in order to gather and guide, to tame and guide through acting in accordance with meaning and so on, the views of those beings also incline towards and rely on tirthikas and so on, rather than holding onto and disputing those views like tirthikas. Uttering sounds means that although one realizes that all dharmas are inexpressible, for the benefit of beings, one skillfully teaches the Dharma through sounds and words. The realm of the three realms means being free from desire for the three realms,

Transcending the three realms, yet acting in the three realms for the benefit of sentient beings. The characteristic practice of those who have attained the three doors of liberation is to practice the characteristics of liberation, such as emptiness. Mingling with non-aryas but not mingling with aryas, although one has become an arya, one does not dwell in the position of an arya, but dwells and acts in the position of ordinary beings. Turning one's back on the state of nirvana and facing samsara, although one has attained nirvana, one does not turn towards it or dwell in it, but turns towards and acts in samsara for the benefit of sentient beings. Appearing without afflictions in the realm of Mara, although one dwells in the realm of Mara in the desire realm, one is not controlled by desire or Mara. From all to all, yet not from all to all, is due to skillful means. In conventional truth, one knows that all things can arise from all things, and one can also cause them to arise. But in ultimate truth, one realizes that not a single thing arises from anything. The inexhaustible means have been explained. There are four kinds of bodhisattvas who have attained power: those who have become great beings, those who have great lion's roars, those who have extremely firm vows, and those who have unfailing dharma. The supreme being called the great being is the one who possesses the marks and signs. The one with the great lion's roar is the one who has attained the ten powers, who can abandon all afflictions and obscurations of knowledge, who knows well the great place of the supreme herd, who turns the wheel of Dharma well, and who roars the lion's roar correctly in the assembly. The one with the extremely firm vow is known by those who have attained the four fearlessnesses, who also know well the abandonment, and who also know well the opposing factors and antidotes of others. The supreme being with the unfailing dharma is the one who has attained the eighteen unshared dharmas of the Buddha, namely, perfect conduct, perfect attainment, and perfect diligence. Venerable Sharadvatiputra, these others are the bodhisattvas' infinite eighty, from the generation of bodhicitta to the names of the means.
