Courage is also of two kinds: not forgetting what has been heard and desiring what has not been heard. What is not forgetting what has been heard? It is to understand the meaning of what has been said individually. Based on this, what is the dharani (藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,汉语字面意思) among them, what is not forgetting? And so on. That is, with what does one not forget, what does one not forget, and not forgetting is not lost. Among them, with what does one not forget? It is explained from the memory of accumulating roots of virtue. What is not forgotten? It is explained from the eighty-four thousand aggregates of Dharma to "This is called dharani (藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,汉语字面意思)." Not forgetting and not being lost is explained from the time when one traces back to other kalpas until one sees it like a seed of Emblica fruit. The so-called memory of accumulating roots of virtue in the past refers to the memory arising from the cause of accumulating merit and wisdom in previous lives. What is held are the letters. What is completely held are the meanings. Not forgetting means not forgetting the letters even later. Holding correctly with memory means not forgetting the meaning even later. These explain that the scriptures of dharani (藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,汉语字面意思) are established in the world, making people not forget. The so-called saying of all Buddhas, etc., refers to not forgetting the meaning and words spoken at the moment. Not being wasted means not losing the wisdom of remembering Dharma and meaning. Not forgetting also means that some are remembered and some are not, and it has not become a defiled memory. The so-called eye of the wisdom of the noble ones means like the eye of uncontaminated wisdom. What is desiring what has not been heard? It is to obtain fearlessness individually. Based on this, what is endless fearlessness? And so on. Because it is explained that one does not have to rely on anything, it is unobstructed fearlessness. Because it is explained that one can preach even after a kalpa or longer, it is uninterrupted fearlessness. Because it is not overwhelmed by demons and heretics, etc., and will never be lost, it is unseizable fearlessness. Because one does not forget Dharma and meaning, it is not being ignorant.

It is fearlessness. Because it answers what is asked, it is swift fearlessness. Because whatever is indicated makes the mind rejoice, it is joyful fearlessness. Because it overwhelms others, it is steadfast fearlessness. Because it can change what is promised and explain it as something else, it is unchanging fearlessness. Because it quickly understands the meaning of the Dharma, it is sharp fearlessness. Because it understands the profound meaning, it is swift fearlessness. This is the characteristic of a Bodhisattva's fearlessness. "His" refers to that Bodhisattva. "That" refers to the fearlessness mentioned above. "Completely purified by the ripening of karma" means that because the actions of body, speech, and mind are completely pure, the innate fearlessness arising from his wisdom is also completely pure. "Blessed by the Buddha" means supported by the power of the Buddha. "Protected by the gods" means being able to completely and flawlessly show the answers to questions and explanations, etc., or being able to show them without error or deficiency. "Teaching the Dharma with fruit" means that for whatever purpose the Dharma is taught, those meanings will exist as they are. "Going on the path of Nirvana" means that the Dharma taught with fearlessness is in accordance with the path to attain Nirvana. "He" refers to the Bodhisattva who possesses completely pure fearlessness. "Thus fearlessness is perfect" means that as described above, fearlessness is ultimate. "How many forms appear" means how many forms appear, and how much wisdom there is to refute impermanence, etc., and to show the characteristics of those dharmas by combining them in verses. Similarly, it also applies to sound. "This and that" refers to those retinues. "His natural accomplishment" means that the Bodhisattva's fearlessness is without effort or diligence. Faith is as they desire. The faculties
