Uninterrupted continuity. The so-called attainment of mental pliancy means being able to attain single-pointedness of mind. Mentioning abiding in the first dhyana, etc., is because of generating magical powers based on the four dhyanas. The so-called attainment of lightness of body and mind means that the attainment of lightness of body enables one to quickly engage in accomplishing one's own benefit and to attain a state without sleepiness and drowsiness, etc. Mental lightness is also the same, enabling one to quickly engage in one's own activities. The so-called entering into clairvoyance means accomplishing the attainment of clairvoyance. The so-called desire or diligence, etc., means that one who possesses such accomplishment can generate the basis of magical powers by relying on any of desire, etc. The so-called basis of magical powers here is intended to refer to magical powers themselves. Alternatively, the so-called desire, etc., refers to the meaning that these four dharmas can attain the place of their fruits. Foot here refers to a state like the place of attaining the fruit. Among them, the Bodhisattva who dwells in desire is said to have entered the first basis of magical power. In this regard, the so-called desire for it refers to the manifest inclination towards these dharmas. The so-called dharma refers to the samadhi of desire or the dharmas of the Buddha. Desire is to be inclined towards, to like and to have faith in these dharmas. Abiding in diligence means having entered the second basis of magical power. In this regard, the so-called diligence refers to accomplishing these dharmas. Accomplishing these dharmas means accomplishing the immeasurable, meditative concentration, and the dharmas of magical powers. Abiding in mind means having entered the third basis of magical power. In this regard, the so-called mind refers to the contemplation of these dharmas. Contemplation of these dharmas refers to judging whether the dharmas that have been spoken of are or are not, or to focusing one-pointedly. Abiding in investigation means having entered the fourth basis of magical power. In this regard, the so-called investigation

It is said that being proficient in those dharmas means being proficient in wisdom. That is, being proficient in the characteristics of the dharmas mentioned above. Thus, when cultivating the four samadhis, eight types of abandoning activities will arise. Aspiration is thinking, "When will my samadhi be perfected, and when will I be able to abandon the latent tendencies of sinful and unwholesome dharmas?" Effort is not abandoning the practice of cultivating antidotes. Faith is believing that one can attain realization before abandoning practice. Pliancy is the joy that precedes faith. Because the mind is joyful, it gradually purifies the evil destinies of sinful and unwholesome dharmas. Mindfulness is holding onto the mind of calm abiding. Awareness is insight. Attention is engaging in what has been abandoned and what has not been abandoned, and fully arousing the physical and verbal bodies that are in harmony with calm abiding and insight. Equanimity is keeping the mind free from all afflictions and maintaining equality when engaging in things that are in harmony with sinful and unwholesome dharmas. Among them, regarding the phrase "by those who have attained the feet of miraculous power," the bodhisattva truly attains miraculous powers by cultivating the feet of miraculous power such as desire. Therefore, desire and so on are called the feet of miraculous power. Among them, miraculous powers are attained through desire and the feet of miraculous power. Miraculous powers are brought to completion through the feet of diligent miraculous power. The miraculous powers that have been brought to completion are not lost through the feet of mind miraculous power. Those miraculous powers are determined and what should be done is manifested through the feet of contemplation miraculous power. Regarding the phrase "arising from faith, without manifest fabrication," the first miraculous powers arise from generating faith in the mind for things that have not manifested, because they have not been truly realized, and from effort. After a bodhisattva has fully trained, the feet of miraculous power will be perfected naturally by merely thinking, without the need for initial prayers and effort. That is its meaning. Therefore, one's own mind
