And, in order to show that diligence is extremely diligent, diligence is obtained, and diligence is extremely stable. The monk Sharadvatiputra also proclaimed the four right abandonments of the Bodhisattvas, namely inexhaustible, etc. Here, too, it should be understood in the manner of teaching and explanation. Which four? Starting from "Which four?" up to "The mind is completely held and truly abides" is the manner of teaching. After that, the remaining parts are the manner of explanation. These four are also inexhaustible because the dharmas to be abandoned and to be cultivated are inexhaustible. If it is said that abandoning unarisen sinful unwholesome dharmas, and abandoning arisen sinful unwholesome dharmas, is worthy of being called right abandonment, then how is it established as right abandonment to generate unarisen wholesome dharmas and to cause arisen wholesome dharmas to abide? Although it seems that these two should not be established, however, because the unfavorable aspects of generating and abiding wholesome dharmas are abandoned, and for the sake of generating and abiding, there is no fault in calling the abandonment of unfavorable aspects right abandonment. Which Bodhisattva is extremely firm in diligence? It is the one who has entered the first right abandonment, that is, the one who cultivates the antidote to the unarisen unwholesome dharmas that should be cultivated. In this regard, it is said that "to generate desire in order not to generate unarisen sinful unwholesome dharmas," etc., which is a synonym for proper attention. It can also be said "to generate desire in order not to generate unarisen sinful unwholesome dharmas," and it can also be said "proper attention," generating desire is a synonym for proper attention. Among them, sinful unwholesome dharmas refer to all that is encompassed by the evil deeds of body, speech, and mind that are practiced with desire, and the afflictions that generate these evil deeds. Unarisen means that the dharma has not yet manifested and has not yet approached. Not generating means not causing it to manifest and not causing it to approach. Generating desire refers to the characteristics of calm abiding and so on that are the antidote to it.

Now, without relying on, meditating on antidotes such as impurity, therefore, generating aspiration is a synonym for proper attention. Effort is diligence, which is called a synonym for not abandoning proper attention. Here, it is also connected with "unwholesome evil dharmas have not arisen," and it can also be said that effort is diligence, and it can also be said not to abandon or give up proper attention. Therefore, effort is diligence is a synonym for not abandoning proper attention. These unwholesome evil dharmas also arise from objects of the past, objects of the future, and objects of the present. Thus, they are based on hidden objects and manifest objects. Whatever is based on objects of the past and future is based on hidden objects. What is based on the object of the present is based on the manifest object. Among them, not generating the unarisen unwholesome evil dharmas based on hidden objects is effort. In order not to generate the unarisen unwholesome evil dharmas based on manifest objects, it is diligence. Holding the mind well and abiding properly is called a synonym for truly knowing. Here, it is also connected with "unarisen unwholesome evil dharmas," and it can also be said that holding the mind well and abiding properly, and it can also be said to truly know, holding the mind well and abiding properly is a synonym for truly knowing. Among them, what is called holding the mind well means that when the near afflictions of timidity arise, in order to dispel them, attention to extreme joy, etc., is holding the mind.
