It is shown that there is also practice. Without an object to focus on, the mind does not arise. Arising from focusing on an object is the nature of the mind. "Focusing on all roots of virtue" means that the mind arises from focusing on an object. Therefore, the mind focuses on all objects that cause the arising of correct roots. Not arising without a cause means that the mind does not arise without the habitual tendencies of the all-ground consciousness. "Qualities conducive to enlightenment" means generating and establishing the cause of the mind's arising, and also generating the cause of the arising of qualities conducive to enlightenment. "Six objects" means that the mind does not arise without relying on the six objects. All the Buddha's teachings are the grounds, perfections, powers, fearlessnesses, and so on. These objects are emptiness. The cause is the object, and the manifesting dharma is skillful means and wisdom. Practice is practicing skillful means and wisdom. Direct knowledge is the six kinds of direct knowledge. Binding the mind is placing it in one-pointedness. Thoroughly knowing that the mind does not operate. Knowing what the minds of sentient beings are like and which afflictions, such as desire, they operate in. Teaching the Dharma with such a nature means teaching where afflictions operate and the corresponding dharmas, such as the contemplation of impurity. Not being discouraged is due to having compassion. Not generating the mind in order to exhaust the mind, and so on, is not like the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas who abide in Nirvana on one side of peace, but because it is completely grasped by skillful means, the continuum of Samsara does not cut off the roots of virtue. This is the meaning to be expressed. Exhaustion is for the sake of exhausting afflictions. Cessation is for the sake of abandoning the aggregates. By remembering and knowing with the mind, like what was said above, understanding and abiding in mindfulness, abiding in characteristics such as non-arising and non-ceasing, and also not being dominated by the nature of reality, one will also not completely abandon Samsara like the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas. This is the meaning to be expressed. When the Buddha's teachings, and so on, are for the sake of myself and all sentient beings attaining unsurpassed

Until enlightenment is attained, one should not abandon the stream of mind that combines skillful means and wisdom. The wisdom that possesses a single moment of mind refers to the single moment of mind that ultimately leads to manifest enlightenment, and it directly realizes Suchness with the wisdom that understands the two selflessnesses. The practice of mindfulness of the mind, which is inexhaustible, has been explained. Who is the perfectly purified Bodhisattva? It is one who is deeply engaged in the mindfulness of the Dharma, who has also attained freedom from all obscurations, bonds, fetters, latent predispositions, and entanglements of afflictions, and who completely perfects the attainment of mastery over all Dharmas. Because of that, it is said, "To them, the Dharmas of Bodhisattvas," etc. Dharma is conditioned and unconditioned, defiled and undefiled. Following the Dharma means that wisdom realizes those Dharmas as empty. Mindfulness means that samadhi places one-pointedly on it. "What is it?" means asking what those things are. For the sake of cultivating them, it is said, "Those Dharmas seen by the eye of noble wisdom," etc. Saying "noble" indicates that it is undefiled. Saying "eye of wisdom" indicates that it is the characteristic of non-conceptualization. Seeing is seeing the nature of emptiness in the way that all conditioned and unconditioned Dharmas arise from below. The meaning is that those Dharmas seen in this way will not degenerate until they abide in the result. "Emptiness liberation," etc., should be connected to mean that not even the slightest thing is seen. There is no Dharma that is not included in emptiness, etc. The meaning is that no Dharma that is not included therein is seen. "Not even the slightest liberation from whatever Dharma arises dependently is seen" means that although Dharmas are by nature empty in the ultimate sense, in the conventional sense, too, not even one Dharma that does not arise dependently is seen, and there is no other Dharma apart from that. This is the meaning.
