The term "steadfast love" refers to the mind that wishes "may all sentient beings be happy," which is compassion. Its steadfast mind means that the intention does not change. A Bodhisattva not only wishes "may all sentient beings be happy," but also causes sentient beings to abide in happiness. How is this done? Therefore, it is said that one should know the rituals for maturing all sentient beings. Its meaning is that for those who have not yet entered the Dharma, one causes them to enter; for those who have entered the Dharma, one is skilled in using various methods to increase their roots of virtue. The term "to truly rejoice in the Dharma with joy" means that the "Dharma" refers to the ten virtues, the six perfections, and so on. To rejoice in these with immeasurable joy is the meaning here. The term "to be separated from the two by equanimity" is explained by abandoning faults, attachment, anger, and extreme pride. Towards sentient beings who commit evil, one is separated from the fault of anger; towards sentient beings who are attached, one is separated from the fault of pride, thinking "this is what I love," therefore it is called equanimity. To abide in the nature of the Dharma of emptiness, signlessness, and wishlessness, here "nature of the Dharma" refers to samadhi. It means to abide thoroughly in the samadhi of emptiness, signlessness, and wishlessness. Here, Bodhisattvas in the first, second, and other stages, due to having well cultivated the Four Noble Truths and the Twelve Links of Dependent Origination, will truly abide in the emptiness of persons and the emptiness of phenomena. Thus, if one grasps emptiness as a characteristic of pervasiveness and cultivates it, the door of liberation of emptiness will arise. If one thoroughly investigates emptiness, then the objects that previously appeared as separate signs of earth, water, fire, wind, moon, sun, mountains, oceans, lakes, temples, directions, regions, and so on, all of these will no longer appear separately, but will appear as signless. At that time, the door of liberation of signlessness will arise. Thus, having separated from all signs and abiding in the door of signlessness

Ema! All three realms do not abide in the form of the three realms, therefore no desire arises for it. Because there is no desire, there is no longing for it in the mind. At that time, the gate of liberation called 'without aspiration' will arise for him. Therefore, he cultivates by holding onto the gate of liberation such as emptiness, and abiding in samadhi and so on such as emptiness, this is called abiding in the Dharma nature of emptiness, signlessness, and aspirationlessness. The pure result is also shown in three ways: Eliminating harm is shown by 'cutting off the iron hook of demons, afflictions, and the turbidity of strife.' That which cuts off all roots of virtue is called a demon. The iron hook is the realm of the demon's power, in reality, if one engages in desire, hatred, ignorance, etc., it is called the realm of the demon's power. Strife is mutual conflict. It itself makes the mind unpleasant, therefore it is also called turbidity, eliminating and removing all these, is the meaning of that. Being skilled in the intention of sentient beings is shown by 'the accomplishment of the intention of all sentient beings, superior faculties, and non-superior faculties.' The intention of sentient beings is the intention of those who practice desire, those who practice hatred, those who practice ignorance, and those who practice equanimity. Superior and non-superior faculties refer to the sharp and dull faculties of those of the Hearer, Solitary Buddha, and Great Vehicle lineages. It means to know the order of intention and faculties as they are. Benefiting others is shown by 'separately bestowing Dharma, meaning, and wisdom according to each.' As shown, for those individuals whose intentions and faculties are different, separately bestowing the Dharma contained in names and phrases, and their meaning, such as the two selflessnesses, and separate wisdom. Pure action is shown by 'becoming the livelihood of those who walk equally.' It is said that the mind is the same as earth, water, fire, and wind. Just as the four great elements are thought of equally.
