If you listen completely, I will explain. Otherwise, raining down the Dharma becomes meaningless, so I will not speak, that is its meaning. "Listen well" means to focus your attention and listen attentively. "Listen carefully" means to remember what is being said without distortion. "Keep it in mind" means do not forget. This is so that it does not become like an overturned vessel, filled with impurities, or with a hole in the bottom. Here, the Tathagata answers the questions, praising the perfect qualities of the Tathagatas residing in the world, which are shown in brief through three aspects. What are the three? They are shown through the purity of the place, the purity of the abode, and the purity of the master. The purity of the place is also shown through five qualities: the purity of the cause, the purity of the nature, the purity of the result, the purity of the action, and the purity of the combination. This is also shown by repeating it three times. One should not be afraid of the Tathagata's wisdom, which is without attachment and without obstruction, with faith and devotion. Do not doubt, which means, having heard the description of the world without frowns, and the bodhisattvas residing there, and the qualities of the Tathagata, do not be afraid, thinking that such wisdom is impossible, nor doubt whether it is true or false. That wisdom, because it knows all knowable things without obstruction, is called without attachment. Because it has abandoned the obscurations of knowledge and the obscurations of afflictions, it is called unobstructed wisdom. "Sharadvatiputra, from this Buddha-field" means that this is the answer to Shariputra's earlier question, "How far is it from this world?" From this Buddha-field of the Saha world, towards the east, beyond as many Buddha-fields as there are dust motes in ten Ganges rivers, beyond those, that Buddha-field exists, that is its meaning. In order to answer the question, "What is the name of that world?" it is said that that world is the world without frowns.

Thus it was said. When asked, "What is the name of the Tathagata?" the answer was given that it is called "Samantabhadra." "Now abiding" means abiding in the four postures. Living means not abandoning the life force of living, meaning not having entered Nirvana. Activity means accomplishing the benefit of sentient beings. When asked, "Where does the Bodhisattva Inexhaustible Intelligence come from?" the answer was given that it comes from there. The statement "even the names of Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas are absent" means that the names of Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas are not even spoken. If one thinks, "Then who are the retinue of the Tathagata?" it is said that there are only Bodhisattvas, meaning that the retinue of the Tathagata consists only of Bodhisattvas, and there are no others. If one asks, "What are these Bodhisattvas like?" then starting from "previously completely purified," and so on, the cause of abiding in purity is shown by dividing it into five aspects, starting from the cause of purity. "Previously completely purified" means accumulating roots of virtue even for the Tathagatas, making body and mind capable. The cause of abiding in purity is also the six Paramitas, namely generosity, taming, good protection, serenity, and the five words of morality, which indicate the three Paramitas of generosity, morality, and patience, namely completely giving away inner and outer things, and offering and serving the Tathagatas, thus possessing the Paramita of generosity. Since the senses such as the eyes do not enter into objects, it is taming, and since it possesses the qualities of learning, it is good protection, therefore abiding in morality. Even if others inflict harm, one does not retaliate, so it is serenity, thus possessing the Paramita of patience. Hearing means possessing the Paramita of diligence, because one constantly has diligence in order to hear the Dharma of the Tathagatas. If one asks, "How does one possess morality?" therefore it is said to be cautious, etc., because one does not live in cities but abides in solitary places, so it is cautious.

To be known, possessing the twelve qualities of practice, and not particularly seeking robes and alms, abiding in frugality, therefore, one possesses discipline. Having no anger through the power of patience means that even if others harm, one does not retaliate, thus it is called the power of patience. Because one possesses the power of patience, one has no hatred towards any sentient being, therefore, one possesses patience. Being steadfast in diligence towards enlightenment means that enlightenment is the wisdom of cessation and non-arising. To attain it, unwavering diligence is steadfast diligence. Because of steadfast diligence, one performs immeasurable accumulations of merit and wisdom, etc., therefore, one possesses diligence. Samadhi is the first, second, third, and fourth dhyanas. Liberation is eightfold. Samadhi is the Heroic Progress Samadhi and the Treasury of Space Samadhi, etc. Attainment is the four formless attainments, or the nine successive abidings. Superknowledge is fivefold. These words indicate the perfection of dhyana. Knowing all phenomena without error through the power of wisdom is called the light and appearance of wisdom. Because of the light and appearance of wisdom, one is skilled in distinguishing and explaining the words of all the teachings spoken by the Tathagata, possessing the wisdom of expertise, therefore, one possesses the perfection of wisdom. Starting from the naturally pure, the mind of loving-kindness is like the expanse of space, etc. Thinking that sentient beings may be free from suffering is called the mind of loving-kindness. Bodhisattvas not only think of being free from suffering, but also strive to make sentient beings free from suffering. This mind of loving-kindness is not like the loving-kindness of the Shravakas, which only focuses on the desire realm. Just as space pervades everything, so too does the loving-kindness of the Bodhisattva pervade all sentient beings, therefore it is said to be like the expanse of space. The compassion of
