The term "word" refers to showing and explaining the giving of inner and outer objects in relation to giving, taming, and so on; showing the taming of the senses such as the eye by not allowing them to enter into objects; showing the discipline of not committing sins through body, speech, and mind; and showing and explaining the certainty of not harming others, which is called "word." Knowing equality means knowing that those dharmas are without self-nature, or knowing the emptiness of those dharmas, which is called "meaning." The term "word" refers to proclaiming and expressing the faults of samsara, where the connection of life from one aggregate to another is born, which is samsara. The fault of samsara is the defect of samsara, which is endowed with many sufferings such as aging and death. Thus, proclaiming and explaining the faults of samsara is called "word." The term "meaning" refers to realizing without focusing on samsara, that samsara, which has become the place of many faults, is also empty and non-existent in its own nature, which is called "meaning." The term "word" refers to expressing the qualities and benefits of nirvana, where all defilements are abandoned and the continuum of connecting from one life to another is cut off, which is nirvana. The qualities of nirvana are peace, abundance, and renunciation, and so on. Benefit means abandoning all suffering and becoming the basis of all happiness. Whatever expresses the qualities and benefits of nirvana is called "word." The term "meaning" refers to self-nature and so on, where all dharmas are naturally luminous. Since defilements and cognitive obscurations are adventitious and unmixed, they are naturally nirvana. Thus, not perceiving faults, shortcomings, qualities, and benefits in those dharmas that are naturally nirvana is called "meaning." The term "word" refers to how the four vehicles are established. Just as the three vehicles are established in the world, so too, showing and explaining their characteristics separately without confusion, or how the twelve branches of scripture are established in the world, just as
