The meaning of "accomplishing these qualities" is that the four mentioned by name, such as desire, are called the feet of miraculous power, which are the cause of operating miraculous powers. Miraculous power refers to the ability to manifest and achieve things like form, strength, and blessings that will appear later. It is the cause or basis of manifesting and achieving abilities, or what leads one to that state, which are the four concentrations of non-desire, etc. Therefore, these four, such as desire, are called the feet of miraculous power. Why? Because desire initially makes one clearly inclined or believe in miraculous power, diligence accomplishes it, and the mind, in accomplishing, grasps without wasting, establishes the Dharma, and contemplates. Because miraculous power arises in such a situation, they are the feet of miraculous power. The meaning of "perfected qualities" is to accomplish with desire, diligence, mind, and contemplation, or to accomplish the form and blessings that possess them, which will appear later. Accomplishing is to obtain from not having obtained. Being capable is being able to use from having obtained. Being in control is being even more diligent than being able to use, being able to transform at will. Therefore, because of diligently meditating on these four feet of miraculous power, one will manifestly obtain effortless miraculous power, meaning that through the power of diligently meditating on the aforementioned four feet of miraculous power, such as desire, and becoming skilled, one will clearly and effortlessly obtain the miraculous powers that will appear later, such as form, strength, and blessings, and achieve them repeatedly. The meaning of "experiencing various kinds of miraculous transformations" is that from such a naturally accomplished basis, a Bodhisattva with miraculous powers will employ various kinds of miraculous transformations. "Form" means to show the form that subdues whether with good or bad form. "Strength" is the power and skill of the body. "Blessing" is transforming water into fire, transforming fire into water, and so on.

To teach the Dharma according to one's wishes means to subdue through the miraculous transformations of magical power, and to teach the Dharma that one believes in to the beings who have faith in that Dharma. To "show those powers" means that those beings show the power of the powerful beings. Similarly, for the inferior, intermediate, and superior, if one blesses them by saying, "May the inferior become superior," then it will transform accordingly. "In the world, in accordance with the Dharma, by anyone" means one who is similar to me in the world. Blessing is the blessing of magical power. To "increase the power of wisdom" means to increase the power of non-dual wisdom. To "various expressions and joy" means to rejoice in explaining various Dharma meanings to beings. To "those miraculous feet also appear superior" means that the miraculous feet of the Bodhisattva surpass the miraculous feet of worldly people and hermits, and also surpass the Hearers and others who have transcended the world. To "transcend the realm of all demons and afflictions" means that one has abandoned all demons and afflictions, and those who are associated with demons and afflictions cannot attain it. To "enter the realm of the Buddha" means to realize the Dharmadhatu through magical power. To "not harm beings" means to benefit beings through magical power. To "accumulate all roots of virtue and accumulations" means that all creations of magical power become the cause of immeasurable roots of virtue and so on. The son of the gods who has obtained great power and freedom in the desire realm is a demon. Those gods who belong to the retinue and servants of that demon are the gods of the demon class. Not being taken away means that they cannot make the magical power of the Bodhisattva disappear, nor can they suppress it. This has already explained the function of magical power, which is the five inexhaustible powers. Manifestation of arising means the manifestation of the exhaustion of defilements. Because Master Asanga said that there are six manifestations, it is a brief meaning.

Although mentioned within, like the Tathagata, the Bodhisattvas have not directly realized the exhaustion of defilements, therefore it is not mentioned in the Sutra. In order to show the Bodhisattva who ripens, the venerable son of Sharadvati also spoke of things that gather Bodhisattvas, etc. The things that gather are things of joy or things that benefit. That which is inexhaustible is also because the sentient beings to be gathered by it are inexhaustible, so the things that gather are also inexhaustible. Here, too, it should be understood as a way of showing and explaining. What are the four? For example, giving, etc., is the way of showing. The rest is the way of explaining. There are also four kinds of Bodhisattvas who ripen: following benefit, benefiting, entering, and following entering. The four things that gather ripen sentient beings, so they themselves show the power to ripen the meaning of the earth. In order to show following benefit, giving is said to be material giving and Dharma giving. Giving wealth and grain, etc., is material giving. With a mind free from material things, teaching the twelve parts of scripture that have been heard to others is Dharma giving. These two are called giving. In order to show benefiting, pleasant speech means speaking gently and pleasantly to those who beg and those who listen to the Dharma. Here, too, it means speaking gently and pleasantly to those who beg for wealth, and speaking gently and pleasantly to those who listen to the Dharma. Gentle speech means not rolling the eyes, frowning, etc., and saying things like "Welcome," "It's good to be here." Pleasant speech means saying, "Even if you come later, I will give in the same way." Or, not talking about the faults of beggars and Dharma listeners is gentle speech. Praising their virtues is pleasant speech. This is called pleasant speech. In order to show entering, beneficial conduct means thinking about the benefit of oneself and others.
