Because it arises from causes and conditions, it should be known that it is the realm of activity of the divine eye. The so-called adornment of the qualities of a Buddha-field refers to a Buddha-field whose ground has the color of lapis lazuli, and which is endowed with rows of wish-fulfilling trees and pools of nectar, and so forth. Because one's own discipline is completely pure, in order to make the adornment of the qualities of one's own field completely pure, one should completely dedicate the accumulations of merit and wisdom that one has gathered. This refers to seeing the qualities of the fields of the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, and thinking, 'When I become a Buddha, may my field also be endowed with such qualities.' Therefore, one dedicates whatever accumulations of merit and wisdom one has gathered through the power of completely pure discipline. If one wonders whether dedication through the power of discipline will be accomplished as desired, it is stated that the dedication of those who abide in the qualities of discipline will be completely accomplished. This means that those who possess the discipline of the nature of reality will accomplish whatever they think or pray for, and therefore it will be completely accomplished as they have dedicated it. As for 'ritual,' things to do and not to do are rituals. Wearing robes and holding a begging bowl, and so forth, acting in accordance with the Dharma is conduct. Not entering the five realms of activity, such as selling alcohol and prostitution, is the realm of activity. Not forgetting transgressions and non-transgressions is mindfulness. Knowing transgressions and non-transgressions is awareness. Walking, staying, sleeping, and strolling, and so forth, with beautiful deportment is deportment. Temples, mountains, and caves, and so forth, are places. Possessing the five superknowledges and not being swayed by demons and non-Buddhists is power. The sutras, vinaya, and abhidharma of the Bodhisattvas are the Dharma. Non-abiding nirvana is liberation. Mirror-like, equality, discriminating awareness, and accomplishing activity are wisdom. Combining with each word of the wise, relying on meaning, Dharma, wisdom, and sutras of definitive meaning is being skilled in reliance. Possessing dharani that does not forget meaning and words is being skilled in dharani. Even if one teaches the Dharma until the edge of samsara, fearlessness will not be exhausted.
