It should act on the dharmas that become the cause of the earth. Because it arises from the cause of aiming to fully ripen sentient beings in those places, great compassion does not touch the uncompounded, that is, it does not take the one-sided peaceful nirvana. The so-called arising from establishing sentient beings in the discipline of the Buddha means that the discipline of the Buddha is to make the nature return from doing all evils and benefit all sentient beings, without clinging to or dwelling on anything. Sentient beings are established in that discipline, and sentient beings should obtain that discipline. Because it arises from the cause of aiming at it, great compassion is to look at sentient beings with evil discipline, and to protect sentient beings with evil discipline. The cause and nature have been explained. In order to show the karma, the venerable Sharadvati's son said, whatever the Bodhisattva's departure, etc. Whatever afflictions of the Bodhisattvas, or any collection of departures from the three realms, all of these arise from great compassion. Thus, because it arises from compassion, it is called great compassion for the sake of doing this. What does it do? It says, for example, giving, etc. The others are not said because they are easy to understand. The so-called not devouring demons means not being inverted or not wasting. The so-called how are all the deeds of sentient beings, each abiding closely, means that for all the things that sentient beings should do, what are the things that benefit and bring happiness, always thinking about them, is the meaning of abiding. The inexhaustible compassion has been explained.

In order to explain what is great joy, and how it is inexhaustible. So, what is great joy? The Buddha's teachings, such as mindfulness and recollection, etc. The Buddha's teachings refer to the Dharma of instruction, which is the twelve divisions of scripture, and the Dharma of realization, which is the noble path and nirvana. Not forgetting these qualities when thinking about them is mindfulness. Not forgetting them during meditation is recollection. These Dharmas also transform into three kinds of joy due to the division of time into three. That is, joy arises from focusing on the past Dharma, joy arises from focusing on the present Dharma, and joy arises from focusing on the future Dharma. Among them, in the past, remembering the teachings and realizations that have been realized, and joy arises in the mind, this is called joy. In the present, joy arises in the mind, thinking that I am able to realize these teachings, this is called faith. In the future, joy and elation arise in the mind, thinking that I will obtain the teachings, powers, fearlessness, etc., this is called supreme joy. The so-called "not being timid" means that in order to obtain the merits of the Lesser Vehicle, the mind does not give rise to the mind of the Lesser Vehicle, or does not become discouraged because of "I cannot", so it is not timid. The so-called "not being overwhelmed" means not being overwhelmed by unhappiness, which is contrary to joy. The so-called "without desire" means that because there is no desire, sorrow and displeasure will not arise, because there is no attachment and desire, and no cause for displeasure to arise, therefore one constantly abides in joy. The so-called "abandoning all sensual pleasures" means abandoning all the joy that arises from delighting in sensual qualities. The so-called "as the basis of all Dharma joy" means that inexhaustible joy itself is the basis and support for being happy to practice all Dharmas such as the earth and the perfections. The so-called "the mind is extremely joyful" means that because of abiding in great joy, the ability of the mind arises, so the mind is extremely joyful. For the same reason, the ability of the body arises, so the body is extremely relaxed. The so-called "joy and faith in the Buddha" means faith in the Buddha
