To show the result, things like gain and respect were spoken of. Gain is things like religious robes. Respect is things like prostration. Verses are praises, and because they are endowed with such qualities, they are called 'arising'. Prostration is because those lords of the world prostrate to those who have loving-kindness. Adorned with the glory of what, it is adorned with the glory of loving-kindness. Praised by the wise is because the Shravakas, Pratyekabuddhas, Bodhisattvas, and Tathagatas praise those who have loving-kindness. Protecting all children is because that loving-kindness prevents individual beings from falling into the path of hatred. In accordance with the path of Brahma, it is in accordance with the path of Nirvana, or in accordance with the four immeasurables. Not mixed with the desire realm is because there is no loving-kindness in the desire realm. 'All sentient beings are the supreme path of liberation' means that among the paths by which sentient beings go to Nirvana, loving-kindness is the supreme path. 'All vehicles are completely gathered' means that all vehicles are gathered in loving-kindness, because the root of all three vehicles is loving-kindness. 'Seized by uncontaminated merit' means that there are three kinds of objects of merit: the object of merit of giving, the object of merit of ethics, and the object of merit of meditation. Among these, giving and ethics are objects of merit with contamination, because giving becomes the cause of enjoyment, and ethics becomes the cause of higher realms, therefore they are the cause of samsara. The object of merit of meditation is uncontaminated, because it is the cause of liberation. Loving-kindness also belongs to the object of merit of meditation, therefore it is called 'seized by uncontaminated merit'. 'All accumulations of merit increase' means that through the power of cultivating loving-kindness, immeasurable accumulations of merit increase, surpassing the merit arising from material things.

That which is called "unconquerable by all material things," here "material things" refers to the wealth of enjoyment. The merit arising from giving away wealth is the merit arising from material things, namely temples, the land of temples, bedding, living utensils, alms, and so on. The merit of cultivating loving-kindness cannot be overcome by all the merit arising from material things, hence it is called "unconquerable," meaning that compared to those merits, the fruit of loving-kindness is greater. That which is called "adornment" means that a person with loving-kindness will obtain those qualities mentioned in the name. That which is called "abandoning all impaired and incomplete faculties" means that although one has faculties such as eyes and ears, one cannot see clearly or hear clearly, which is impaired faculties. Being deaf, blind, or having crippled hands and feet is incomplete faculties. A person with loving-kindness, wherever they are born, will be born with clear and complete faculties, hence it is called "abandoning all impaired and incomplete faculties." That which is called "conforming to all happy migrations and the path of Nirvana," just as one can be reborn as gods and humans through morality and generosity, and attain Nirvana through the Noble Eightfold Path, so too, abiding in loving-kindness will also lead to constant rebirth as gods and humans, and attain Nirvana, hence it is called "conforming to all happy migrations and the path of Nirvana." That which is called "transcending all evil destinies and the eight unfree states" is because a person with loving-kindness will never be born in a fearful and evil place. The result has been explained. In order to show the nature, it is said "joyfully delighting in the joy of Dharma," believing in emptiness is delighting in the joy of Dharma. Believing in the scriptures that explain emptiness is delighting in the joy of Dharma. Or, wanting to practice Dharma is delighting in the joy of Dharma. Accomplishing this is delighting in the joy of Dharma. Therefore, it should be combined with "not being attached to desires and enjoyments." Desires refer to forms and sounds, etc. Enjoyments refer to food and drink, etc.
