It is said, "It is called 'the supreme word of omniscience,'" and so on. It can also be called 'skilled in all dharmas,' and it can also be called 'omniscient.' Therefore, saying 'skilled in all dharmas' is the supreme word of omniscience, which indicates the definitive meaning. Why is that? This is asking the reason, meaning why is being skilled in all dharmas called omniscient? To show the reason, it is said, "Always skilled in mindfulness, intelligence, and wisdom." It means that one who is skilled in all dharmas is called omniscient because they are always skilled in mindfulness, always skilled in intelligence, and always skilled in wisdom. Because these three understand all dharmas, they are skilled. Being skilled in mindfulness means not forgetting the meaning and words of the dharmas. Being skilled in intelligence means understanding the suchness of the dharmas. Being skilled in wisdom means understanding the self and general characteristics of the dharmas. To show the result, it is said, "To perfect the immeasurable and unattached wisdom of omniscience." It means that because it focuses on all knowable things, it is called the immeasurable wisdom of omniscience. The wisdom of omniscience is considered to be like mirror-like wisdom. Because that wisdom has completely abandoned the obscurations of afflictions and the obscurations of knowledge, it is unattached. "To perfect" means that the wisdom is attained and brought to completion by the three, such as mindfulness. Therefore, the reason for being called skilled in all dharmas is that, as mentioned above, one understands and comprehends all dharmas, so they are called skilled in all dharmas. "Possessed by those eight skills" means possessing these eight skills. To show the function of wisdom, it is also said, "Virtuous and non-virtuous," and so on, while also explaining the meaning of the word 'wisdom.' In the word 'wisdom,' some sutras have both 'supreme' and 'wisdom,' while others have only one. Because one possesses it, it is called wisdom. Or, knowing what is taught by others, and each individually

Furthermore, understanding, discerning, understanding of extreme tranquility, and understanding of the supreme qualities are wisdom. Among these, understanding what is taught by others refers to following the words taught by others and generating correct views from proper attention. Individual self-realization understanding refers to the manifestation of transcendental, non-conceptual wisdom. Discerning understanding refers to realizing the nature of phenomena through the wisdom attained after transcending the world. Understanding of extreme tranquility refers to the wisdom that becomes the antidote to afflictions on the path of cultivation. Understanding of the supreme qualities refers to the wisdom that accomplishes extraordinary qualities such as supernormal powers. Thoroughly understanding virtuous and non-virtuous dharmas, what is called wisdom, among which virtue is of two types: with outflows and without outflows. Among these, with outflows refers to actions that lead to merit and actions that lead to immovability. Without outflows refers to the noble path and so on. Non-virtue refers to actions that lead to non-merit, such as killing and taking what is not given. Thoroughly understanding the individual and general characteristics of these dharmas is called wisdom. The dharmas that are in accordance with the aspects of ascertainment are called conceptualization, and ascertainment refers to heat, peak, forbearance, and the supreme mundane dharma, which are the samadhis of the stage of conduct based on faith. The dharmas that are in accordance with its aspects are the dharmas that are the cause of attaining that samadhi, first listening to the sacred dharma from a virtuous friend, and contemplating, and then cultivating the four mindfulnesses, and cultivating the four correct abandonments, and so on. Understanding those dharmas is realization, that is, understanding with wisdom, so wisdom is conceptualization of the dharmas that are in accordance with the aspects of ascertainment. Wisdom that manifests the dharmas of the noble ones is said to be valid. The noble ones refer to the Tathagatas, Bodhisattvas, Shravakas, Pratyekabuddhas, and so on. Their dharmas are the dharmas of the absence of self in persons and the absence of self in phenomena, that is, they are manifested by wisdom, so wisdom is valid.
