Dedicating what is manifestly accumulated is called dedicating to Bodhi, which is being skilled in conditioned phenomena. Whatever virtuous actions of body, speech, and mind are manifestly accumulated, dedicating all of these with the thought of Bodhi to omniscience is called dedication. In the previous explanation of dedicating to unsurpassed Bodhi, because the phrase "with the thought of Bodhi" was not mentioned, it should be understood as conditioned phenomena. Here, because "with the thought of Bodhi" is mentioned, all the virtues practiced by body, speech, and mind should be contemplated as emptiness, inseparable from the nature of Bodhi, and dedicated in order to attain omniscience. Because Bodhi is also the nature of the unconditioned, it is called being skilled in the unconditioned. Furthermore, the phrase "being skilled in the unconditioned" shows other categories of being skilled in the conditioned and the unconditioned. Practicing the five perfections is called being skilled in the conditioned. Whatever is the Perfection of Wisdom, etc., shows that the Perfection of Wisdom is being skilled in the unconditioned. What is the Perfection of Wisdom like? Therefore, it is said, "Do not reproach those five unconditioned perfections," the wisdom that focuses on emptiness is the wisdom of the unconditioned, which actually refers to non-conceptual wisdom. The five perfections are the cause of rebirth in samsara, so they should be reproached, but the Perfection of Wisdom does not refute them, which is called not reproaching the five perfections. The collection of all perfections refers to the collection of the six perfections, such as generosity. The root of virtue refers to non-attachment, etc. The word "for" means for the purpose or for the sake of accumulating the collection of perfections and the collection of roots of virtue, or it is a synonym for "for the sake of." The liberation of a Bodhisattva is the non-abiding Nirvana that has abandoned afflictions and cognitive obscurations. The omniscience of a Bodhisattva refers to the mirror-like wisdom that comprehends all phenomena. Dedication means for the purpose of attaining Nirvana and that wisdom...

Dedication of the merits of accomplishing the six perfections. These indicate that the five perfections, such as generosity, mentioned above, are not the nature of contemplating unconditioned dharmas, so they are said to be skilled in conditioned dharmas. The perfection of wisdom is the nature of contemplating unconditioned dharmas, so it is said to be skilled in unconditioned dharmas. Furthermore, the words "other" and so on show the categories of being skilled in conditioned and unconditioned dharmas: Looking at all sentient beings with wisdom and compassion, and benefiting them as much as possible, is called equally sending unobstructed rays of light to all sentient beings. In order to benefit them in this way, the four means of gathering sentient beings—generosity, kind speech, beneficial action, and acting in accordance with their needs—are called being skilled in conditioned dharmas. The so-called "not grasping, not taking, not considering as supreme," etc., although it is so, because it is empty in the ultimate sense, one does not grasp external objects as real, nor does one take internal objects as self. Since reality and self are not established in this way, one does not consider benefiting others as supreme. This is the general statement. Being skilled in the objects of gathering is also called delighting in the unconditioned, which means that one also delights in the nature of emptiness for the objects of gathering. This is the general statement. The so-called dedication to omniscience means that, in this way, delighting in emptiness and being skilled in the objects of gathering, one dedicates oneself in order to attain the omniscient wisdom that understands suchness. This is the bodhisattva's skill in the unconditioned, and it should be connected in this way. In order to show other categories of being skilled in conditioned and unconditioned dharmas, it is also said, "Other skills in conditioned dharmas are cutting off the afflictions of the continuum of samsara," and so on. Among them, there are two kinds of skills in conditioned dharmas: being skilled in worldly causes and being skilled in transmundane causes. There are also two kinds of skills in worldly causes: being skilled in abandoning the causes of suffering and being skilled in generating the causes of happiness. The words "cutting off the afflictions of the continuum of samsara" and so on indicate being skilled in completely abandoning the causes of suffering.
