Maṇi is the path of non-abiding nirvāṇa. This vehicle also goes to that path, or is in accordance with that path, therefore it goes to the path of non-deception. The name "Nye bar 'tsho ba" (cherishing all sentient beings) shows the perfection of benefiting others. If one enters that vehicle, all sentient beings will obtain benefit and happiness, therefore it is called "Nye bar 'tsho ba" (cherishing all sentient beings). That vehicle is called "free from fault in all times and places," and so on, which shows the qualities of the perfection of the fruit. It means that in all ways, at all times, in all places, in all directions, there is no fault, so that vehicle is called "free from fault in all times and places," meaning that in all ways, one does not commit all sinful and unwholesome dharmas. At all times means that even in the three times, one does not commit sinful and unwholesome dharmas. In all places means that wherever one goes, even to the places of gods and humans, one does not commit sins. In all directions means that in all ten directions, one does not commit sins. It is called "adorned with the ornaments of the dharmas mentioned below," meaning that those have already been explained above. In order to summarize what has been said before, it is said, "Who is skilled in this," and so on. "Who is skilled in this" refers to the dharmas mentioned before. In order to show that one is skilled in all dharmas, it is asked, "Among them, what is it that a Bodhisattva is skilled in all dharmas?" In order to answer that question, "all dharmas" is said, which, in short, means conditioned and unconditioned. Since all dharmas are included in conditioned and unconditioned, by the meaning of inclusion, these two are called all dharmas. Among them, what are the contaminated dharmas produced by causes and conditions, and the uncontaminated dharmas? They are conditioned. What is not produced by causes and conditions, suchness, the ultimate limit, emptiness, and the realm of dharma? They are unconditioned. In that, a Bodhisattva should be skilled in conditioned and unconditioned, which means that Bodhisattvas and others should understand the characteristics of the conditioned and unconditioned dharmas. What are those wholesome bodily actions, wholesome verbal actions, and wholesome mental actions?

That is to say, abstaining from killing, not taking what is not given, and not engaging in sexual misconduct are virtuous actions of the body. Not speaking lies, divisive speech, harsh words, and idle chatter are virtuous actions of speech. Abandoning covetousness, malice, and wrong views are virtuous actions of the mind. That is called dedicating all of these to unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. "All of these" refers to the aggregate of the three actions mentioned earlier. "Unsurpassed" refers to Bodhi, because it surpasses the Bodhi of the Shravakas in terms of abandonment, wisdom, accomplishment, time, attainment, possession, and conduct, and so it is called "unsurpassed." Among these, the transcendence in terms of abandonment is that the Bodhi of the Shravakas only abandons the obscuration of afflictions, while this (Bodhi) abandons both the obscuration of afflictions and the obscuration of knowledge, thus transcending in terms of abandonment. In terms of wisdom, it only understands the selflessness of persons, while this (Bodhi) understands the wisdom of the selflessness of both persons and phenomena. In terms of accomplishment, the Shravakas and others only accomplish their own benefit, while this (Bodhi) accomplishes the benefit of both self and others, thus transcending in terms of accomplishment. In terms of time, the Shravakas and others only practice for three or seven lifetimes, while this (Bodhi) practices for three countless eons, thus transcending in terms of time. In terms of attainment, the Shravakas only attain the fruit of Arhatship, while this (Bodhi) attains the fruit of unsurpassed Bodhi, thus transcending in terms of attainment. In terms of possession, the Shravakas only possess qualities such as the spheres of exhaustion and the spheres of dominance, while this (Bodhi) possesses qualities such as the ten powers and the four fearlessnesses, thus transcending in terms of possession. In terms of conduct, the Shravakas and others do not practice the Paramitas, while this (Bodhi) practices the Bhumis and the Paramitas, thus transcending in terms of conduct. "Perfect and complete enlightenment" refers to the meaning of thoroughly understanding all phenomena without distortion. "Bodhi" is distinguished by abandonment and the perfection of wisdom, as previously explained. In order to attain such Bodhi, (one should dedicate) the merit.
