The wisdom of subduing the opposing side is the nature of wisdom. The opposing side is the all-encompassing entanglement of extreme harm, such as stones and clods of earth, which immediately create obstacles, as well as the latent tendencies in the mind, and demons that act as obstacles to abandoning these, and the desire that becomes an ally of the demons. Abandoning these is to relinquish them, hence it is called: A hero without dust, without stain, free from desire. The nature of wisdom also has two types: wisdom that acts as an antidote and wisdom that observes. The antidote is that which immediately follows and is included in the path of liberation. Observation refers to the complete understanding of all conditioned and unconditioned dharmas. Because one possesses these two types of wisdom, it is called: Wisdom has no dimness, the three eyes are completely purified. The difference in abandonment exists even in worldly hermits and the like, but even in the antidotal path of abandoning afflictions, the lower and upper grounds have paths stained by clinging to the coarse and the peaceful. Because the opposing side, the great afflictions, are abandoned in stages, the Blessed One does not have the kind of finality that others might have, so he has also abandoned the three stains and coarseness. Because he is free from faults together with their imprints, and from the dust of the obscurations of knowledge, his abandonment surpasses even that of the Hearer Arhats. Therefore, it is said: He has cleared away faults and is free from dust. Although, through the power of compassion, he sees all beings in suffering, does he not have a moment of fear himself? The answer is: He is free from fear and has completely dispelled the net of delusion. This verse and others show that he is free from the seven fears. Being free from fear is a limb, and the rest are near limbs. Dispelling the net of delusion means that when ignorance ceases, actions cease. Therefore, it is said: Only this great mass of suffering ceases. Thus, it is shown that he is free from the fear of aging, sickness, death, and falling into the lower realms. The ten powers are the ten powers such as knowing what is and is not the case. All ten powers are also the nature of wisdom. Because he possesses these, it is shown that he is free from the fear of having no livelihood and the fear of having no verses. Regarding livelihood

I say that the life of wisdom is supreme. Having the ten powers, because there are no breaks, there is no fear. It is extremely difficult to overcome opposing groups, and the opposing groups who have entered the wrong path are made to fear. This shows that within the retinue, one is free from fear due to caution. Because one cannot be destroyed by the opponents of non-Buddhists, and because the groups who have entered the wrong path, such as demons, are made to fear. Therefore, just as a lion, no matter where it goes or stays, has no caution or fear on this earth, so too does the Tathagata, endowed with great compassion, abandon the seven fears. In this world, he walks without hesitation. He walks without hesitation like a lion. That is what is said. Thus, although endowed with great compassion and free from hesitation, is it not the case that the Tathagata does not have the power to benefit sentient beings? Even in the heavenly realms, one is free from all faults. This verse shows that one has the power to benefit sentient beings. The body of the Tathagata is radiant, free from faults, pervades all realms, and benefits sentient beings. This is the concluding statement. The radiance is also indicated by pervasiveness, having power, being without obscuration, abiding, being extremely bright, and non-abiding nirvana. The radiance pervades the heavenly realms up to the fourth dhyana and even the hells of sentient beings in Avici, so it is said, "Even in the heavenly realms." Because the radiance is free from all faults, it has power, and it is combined with "free from all faults." It pervades all realms, and because there is no obscuration, it is said "all." Because the radiance abides in the body, it is said, "Your limbs have no stains." The radiance is extremely bright, so it is said, "Abiding radiantly." Because the three, non-equanimity, equanimity, and ignorance without afflictions, have been eliminated, one does not abide in either samsara or nirvana. Having thoroughly eliminated darkness, dimness, and ignorance, one shines like the sun freed from the web of clouds.

The Tathagata, liberated from the net of the two obscurations, manifestly gathers and appears for the benefit of sentient beings, that is its meaning. Since he is thus endowed with compassion, free from timidity, and possesses the power to accomplish the benefit of sentient beings, why do beings still appear to dwell in the three realms? "These beings are without protector and are miserable." Etc., with one verse praises the qualities of how to accomplish the benefit of sentient beings. The Tathagata is not acting, but like a doctor, he only shows the way to remove the disease of afflictions. Because there is no place and no refuge, they are without protector, and tormented by old age and death, so they are miserable beings, for these beings, the Tathagata, the best of sentient beings, generates compassion at the time of the cause of suffering, and generates loving-kindness at the time of the result, liberating them thoroughly and departing like a doctor, just as if one takes medicine and performs rituals as instructed by the doctor, one will recover from the disease, so the Tathagata also only shows the way to remove the disease of afflictions of sentient beings, therefore, whichever sentient being is like a patient, who practices according to the teachings, will be liberated, but others are not like that, this is the concluding word. If the Tathagata dwells in samsara like other sentient beings, and is not liberated, then he himself is not liberated, and he cannot liberate others. If he has passed away into nirvana, then how does he liberate sentient beings? "Ignorance and delusion, the ocean of existence is difficult to cross." Etc., with one verse shows that he does not abide in samsara and nirvana. Among them, ignorance is not knowing the two (truths) that are the cause of the truth of the noble ones. Delusion is not knowing the two (truths) that are the result. The three realms surrounded by these two are the ocean of existence that is difficult to cross, like water, the afflictions such as desire, and like waves, the various discriminations such as home and relatives, have many waves, not having heard from others such as Khenpo and Acharya, not having received scriptures and instructions, one completely transcends oneself. Thus, even having transcended from the ocean of existence, one enters nirvana like a Shravaka Arhat
