It is said that things like being called "La" and so on have been spoken. Among them, the perfection of wisdom and the perfection of abandonment are called Bodhi. Bodhi is the nature of wisdom and abandonment. Among them, there are four kinds of perfection of wisdom: knowing everything, knowing all aspects, knowing without effort, and knowing without being taught. Knowing everything means knowing all knowable things such as aggregates, elements, and sense bases without exception. Knowing all aspects means knowing them as impermanent, or as selfless, or knowing them in all three times. Whenever one knows, that knowledge does not diminish. Knowing without effort means knowing spontaneously without relying on causes such as samadhi and without effort. Knowing without being taught means that without the instructions of a Khenpo and Acharya, one realizes all the Dharma of self-arising wisdom by oneself. There are also five kinds of perfection of abandonment: abandoning the obscuration of afflictions, abandoning the obscuration of knowledge, utterly abandoning, abandoning together with habitual tendencies, and abandoning all obscurations of meditative absorption. Among them, abandoning the obscuration of afflictions means abandoning afflictions such as desire that are to be abandoned by the path of seeing and the path of cultivation. Abandoning the obscuration of knowledge means abandoning the ignorance that is not an affliction, which is the habitual tendency of attachment to grasping and the grasper in relation to aggregates, elements, and sense bases. Utterly abandoning means that these two obscurations do not arise or appear in the mind stream later and are abandoned. Abandoning together with habitual tendencies means that the seeds of habitual tendencies of these two obscurations are uprooted. Abandoning all obscurations of meditative absorption means abandoning all obstacles to attaining the nine successive abidings of meditative absorption, as well as the attainment of cessation and the spheres of overcoming. Approaching the causes and conditions by which one will attain unsurpassed Bodhi is also called approaching the conditions of Bodhi. The causes and conditions are the accumulation of merit and wisdom. These conditions are also exhaustion and cessation.
