Etc., all other dharmas besides those characteristics themselves are the efficient cause, because they abide in the nature of not hindering arising. Whatever dharmas become the result of each other, that is the co-emergent cause; for example, when the four great elements arise together, they cause each other to arise, so they are co-emergent causes for each other. Similarly, mind and mental factors, and the dharmas that should be abandoned because they see the suffering of action in desire, are the cause of equal share for those that arise later and those that have not arisen. Similarly, good, non-good, and unspecified should also be applied. The homogenous cause is the mind and mental factors, which are the faculties that abide depending on which moment. The previously generated afflictions are the pervasive cause because they are the pervasive cause for the later generated and ungenerated self-natures. Non-virtuous and virtuous contaminated dharmas are the maturation cause. Dependent on conditions means that it arises depending on the four conditions. The four conditions are the causal condition, the objective condition, the immediately preceding condition, and the dominant condition. Among these, the causal condition is that which abides as the nature of the cause that produces the result, such as seeds, and the alaya-consciousness with habitual tendencies. Others will be explained elsewhere, except for the efficient cause, the five causes are the causal condition. Whatever mind and mental factors arise in dependence on, those objects are its objective condition, that is, all dharmas are the objective condition of the six consciousnesses. Except for the last mind that enters nirvana, the causes of mind and mental factors are the immediately preceding condition. The efficient cause itself is the dominant condition. Dependent on assembly means that the cause and conditions gather together, relying on the ability to abide with the power to produce the result, thereby producing the result. Having shown arising from a concordant cause, not arising from an inharmonious cause

In order to show it briefly, (the Buddha) said that whatever depends on causes, conditions, and combinations, it is said that they do not depend, and so on. It means that it does not arise depending on the "self" and so on, which are established by other things. Then, is it "here"? Is it "before"? Or, there is nothing that can be counted as "other". This sentence means that because how the "self" does not depend, and does not depend on sentient beings and so on, so at this moment, it cannot be counted as "here". In the past time, it cannot be counted as "like this". In the future time, it cannot be counted as "it will become like this". Or, all dharmas depend on causes, which refers to the synonym that external and internal dependent origination depend on causes. Then, what is the cause that external dependent origination depends on? For example, a sprout grows from a seed, and a leaf grows from a sprout, and so on. Then, what is the cause that internal dependent origination depends on? For example, ignorance causes action, and action causes consciousness, and so on. Depending on conditions means that external and internal dependent origination also arise depending on conditions. What are the conditions for external dependent origination? For example, the elements of earth, water, fire, wind, space, and time that (the Buddha) said. What are the conditions for internal dependent origination? (The Buddha) said the elements of earth, water, fire, wind, space, and consciousness. Depending on combination means that it does not depend on the state where causes and conditions are not complete. Therefore, in the Sutra of Salu Green, it is also said that in terms of cause, if there is no seed, no sprout will grow; if there is no flower, no fruit will grow. In terms of conditions, without these conditions, a sprout will not grow from a seed; when the external earth element is fully complete, and so on. In terms of internal dependent origination, in terms of cause, if ignorance does not arise, then action will not arise either. Similarly, there will be no birth.

Even between aging and death, it does not appear. Thus, it is said that because there is ignorance, actions arise and occur, and so on. It is also said in the context of conditions that without these conditions, the body will not arise. When the earth element is complete, and so on. The statement "whatever dharma depends on the assembly of causes and conditions" means that whether it is an external or internal dharma, whatever dharma arises from causes and conditions, and the relationship between causes and conditions, does not arise from the self, nor does it arise from sentient beings. Therefore, in that very Sutra Pitaka, in the context of external dependent origination, it is said that the earth element does not think, "I will perform the function of supporting my seed," and even the sprout is not made by me, nor by others, nor by both, nor transformed by Īśvara, nor changed by time, nor born from nature, nor born from no cause. In the context of internal dependent origination, it is also said that ignorance does not think, "I will generate actions," and it is not the self, not sentient
