For sentient beings, it is like having the same kind of species between people, and so on. The individual arising of birth is like the arising of flowers and fruits, where aggregates, realms, and sources arise. Among these five types of birth, here it refers to the birth that dwells in the womb and the birth that arises individually. Those births are painful for two reasons: painful due to the nature of harm, and because they become the basis for other sufferings. Among them, being painful due to the nature of harm refers to being in the mother's womb, between the digested and undigested states, and when emerging from the womb, being squeezed by various impure substances, like being placed in the steps of a mountain, the limbs experience immeasurable suffering, therefore birth is painful. Becoming the basis for other sufferings means that once born, sufferings such as aging follow, therefore birth is called suffering. This is the nature of the truth of suffering. To explain how one can understand the truth of suffering, it is said, "The knowledge that realizes the unborn" and so on. Realizing that birth is unborn and invisible in the ultimate sense is called knowing suffering as suffering, which is synonymous with truth. To explain the nature of the truth of origin, it is said, "Existence is the cause of birth, and whatever exists is the origin," and so on. Accumulating various habits that become the cause of connecting the continuum is called craving. In the twelve links of dependent origination, existence is the cause of birth, because all births arise from that existence, so existence is called the origin. To explain how to understand the origin, it is said, "Knowing the cessation of existence" and so on. Knowing the cessation of existence means knowing that the nature of existence does not exist. To explain the nature of the truth of cessation, it is said, "All births are unborn, and non-birth is cessation," and so on. Regarding the five types of birth that have been explained, both internal and external

All things that arise, in terms of ultimate truth, are without arising. That which is without arising, that which does not arise, that is the truth of cessation. In order to show how to understand the truth of cessation, it is said, "That which does not arise, there is no cessation," and so on. Cessation depends on arising, because once it has arisen, it will perish. Thus, if it has not arisen, there is no perishing, so it is said that there is no cessation for that which has not arisen. Understanding that there is no cessation is called understanding the cessation of annihilation. Understanding that all arising is the cessation of the nature of not arising and not being born, and that itself is also empty of nature, is called the non-cessation of the nature of non-arising. In order to show the nature of the truth of the path, and how to understand the truth of the path, it is said, "That which is counted or measured in that way," and so on. As explained above, like what is suffering, what are the origin and cessation, to definitely understand and ascertain, this is called the truth of the path. To know those without reversing them is the understanding of the truth of the path. Counting and measuring means ascertaining and understanding. Or, understanding the number of names, sentences, and letters of the Sutra Pitaka, etc., which show the four noble truths, is called understanding counting. What grasps the two and fully understands the two, that is, grasping the name and fully understanding the meaning, grasping the meaning and fully understanding the name, is called understanding measuring. What first grasps the name of the noble truth and then enters into the understanding of the meaning is called understanding seeking. The eleven combinations of complete understanding are the understanding of understanding. What are the eleven understandings? They are: complete understanding of sudden events, complete understanding of the reason for correct appearance, complete understanding of non-object, complete understanding of object and non-object, complete understanding of the realm of phenomena, complete understanding of the selflessness of persons, complete understanding of the selflessness of phenomena, complete understanding of small mind, complete understanding of the great mind of great freedom, and how to make the Dharma
