By meditating on the selflessness of phenomena, one knows that they have transcended the world. Possessing the characteristic of realizing that very thing, these are those who have transcended the world. Although there is impartial loving-kindness, the perfection of generosity and so forth, endowed with the selflessness of phenomena, is the distinction of complete purity. This is the cause of the distinctions of the grounds. Through generosity, there is the yoga of great joy; through moral discipline, one becomes stainless; through patience, one becomes radiant; through diligence, light radiates; this is endowed with merit. What is difficult to purify from merit is seen to become manifest through wisdom. Having gone far, with great skillful means, one is powerful and unshakeable. Through aspiration, one is of good intelligence; endowed with wisdom, one has the cloud of Dharma. The tenth perfection is the ten grounds in the order of purity. Furthermore, here, miraculous powers of action, mind and life, merit, wisdom, resources, Dharma and wisdom, and mastery itself, there are also ten powers, namely diligence, fearlessness, faith, learning, meditation, accurate individual analysis, merit, wisdom, and patience. These are the ten masteries and the ten powers, and the perfections together with their fruits of the bodhisattvas. The object of these grounds is undifferentiated; it is emptiness. The characteristic of the selflessness of phenomena and persons is such that it is non-dual. In order to destroy the thoughts of this and that, one should contemplate its essence. Through the distinctions of actual thoughts, limitless aspects ripen. This is the twenty-first chapter on the ten perfections together with their fruits from Entering the Path of the Conquerors. Words of what should be taken and what should be abandoned, this is manifest knowledge, and in order to further enter the ground of wisdom, the correct ritual should be well explained. Entering into that is mindfulness of unattractiveness and breathing in and out; for those attached to that, through unattractiveness, desire is completely extinguished. Desire is an object such as color, shape, touch, smell, and so forth. By becoming accustomed to unattractiveness, that ceases, and calm abiding arises correctly. One contemplates one's own body as flesh, decay, and leakage, merely a network of bones. That gradually increases, and one sees the earth as being full. This is spoken in order to increase faith and desire, and again, having gathered it in the same way, one should meditate on oneself, bones.

In the lineage of sheep of Napa! When the object of meditation is clear, The first (meditation) is complete. Discarding the skeleton and half skull, It is said that purification has been done. After completely transcending, pay attention, Hold the mind in the middle of the eyebrows. The sequence of alternately expanding and contracting Is exactly how to meditate. The three kinds of ugliness that are spoken of Are the distinctions of inferior, middling, and so on. The nature of being undesirable Is the antidote to attachment. This is the third meditation on ugliness. Like this, examine the body correctly, Teeth, hair, and nails grow, Blood, skin, and flesh, Dust, fat, oil, and serum, Tendons, bones, and spleen, Heart, marrow, bile, lungs, and liver, Stomach, intestines, fat, Brain, eye mucus, Outer soil, phlegm, Nasal mucus, tears, urine, Saliva, semen, Worms, pus, etc., those Aggregates are called the body. Filth, stench, and impurity, And the nature of being without autonomy. The obvious accumulation of impurity Is a container for everything meaningless! Attachment to this is difficult to reverse, Obscured by ignorance, it is very strange. Good-smelling fragrances like camphor, Will disappear when accompanied by it. Like this, go to the center of the charnel ground, Go and look at the dead corpse, Abandoned by one's own relatives, Others also do destruction, and so on. Being extremely distracted by the wind, Being divided and pecked at, Half eaten and by worms, Thoroughly and obviously destroyed. Without flesh, being pecked at, The bones are the nature of a skeleton. After seeing them scattered everywhere, The wise person equates it with their own body. Like this, by correctly meditating on ugliness, One will not become attached. By that, quiescence is perfected, That is the container for meditation. This is the chapter on meditating on ugliness from Entering the Path of the Conquerors, the twenty-second (chapter). If there are many thoughts, stabilize the inhalation and exhalation with mindfulness. At all times, gather the mind, Therefore, focusing on the breath is best. The breath of life that enters or exits should be counted. Just remembering from one, Count to the end of one to ten, then do the same again. If you are distracted in between, You must count again. The mind is gathered.
