Then, Shariputra, those monks who are corrupted in discipline appear because, after hearing such sutras spoken by the Tathagata, they enter for the sake of destroying them. Shariputra, those who enjoy the things given with faith are great thieves. Shariputra, whoever, upon hearing this Vinaya, does not rejoice or feel pleased, know that he is especially a sinful monk. Why is that? Shariputra, for those monks who possess discipline, neither the talk of discipline, nor the talk of samadhi, nor the talk of wisdom, nor such talk of Dharma that causes weariness, will be displeasing. Shariputra, upon hearing such a sutra, three will be displeased. Which three? Those who are monks with corrupted discipline, those who are monks with pride, and those who are monks who, with non-Dharma speech disguised as Dharma speech, teach impurity. Furthermore, three will be displeased. Which three? The view of self, the view of life, and the view of person. Furthermore, three will be displeased. Which three? The view of aggregates, the view of elements, and the view of sources. Thus it was said. In the same sutra it is said: Shariputra, such a sutra, after the Tathagata has completely passed into Nirvana, will cause the monks who possess discipline to rejoice and be pleased. Shariputra, this sutra will be upheld by those who possess discipline and will be completely abandoned by those who are corrupted in discipline. Why is that? Shariputra, like this, when the truth is taught as it is, the childish ones will suffer. Shariputra, whatever limbs, whatever forms, whatever signs, whatever marks make one possess the forms, signs, and marks of being corrupted in discipline, those are what the Tathagata has spoken in this sutra. The corrupted in discipline do not rejoice in the talk of discipline, those who are not equally abiding do not like the talk of equal abiding.

They will not like mothers. Miserly people will not like the words of giving. Those with obvious pride, especially after hearing the teachings of the Buddha who is without pride, will fall into a great abyss and generate great fear. Indulging in worldly clamor and food, if praising a simple life, will generate great displeasure. In the Sutra of the Collection of Dharmas, it is also said: Shariputra, these ten are the faults of the immoral conduct of the immoral. Which ten? An immoral person will feel pain at the time of death. He will think: I will fall into hell, and the immoral bhikkhu will regret it. He will feel fear in the Sangha. He will boast himself over those who are virtuous. He will say: I am abandoned by the Buddhas! I am abandoned by the Shravakas! I am abandoned by the gods! Therefore, he will die in fear, fall into evil destinies, and it will be difficult to obtain a human body. Shariputra, these ten are the faults of the immoral conduct of an immoral bhikkhu. Thus spoke the Buddha. An explanation of the thought of despising those who are virtuous. In the Sutra of Protecting the Country, it is also said: In the future, in the degenerate age, those children, seeing that they are universally slandered, will remember these words of mine, and at that time they will live in remote places and forests. Alas! By obtaining gain, they suppress and hate merit. Wherever many bhikkhus appear, the sacred teachings of the Victorious One will soon be destroyed. In the future, those who are endowed with discipline and merit will always be universally despised. They will leave villages, lands, and cities, and live in solitary forests. They like fighting, instigating, and quarreling, and always despise and neglect those with merit. Those people will be known as teachers of the world, and they will be annoyed by arrogance and self-satisfaction. Here, my teachings are a treasure of merit, the source of all merit, the supreme joy. It will be destroyed by the faults of the decline of discipline, jealousy, and self-satisfaction. Just as a mine of jewels is excavated.
