Like a crooked tree that is not needed. Those who strive for Bodhi and seek the Buddha's teachings, do not abide in liberation in the same way. It is like a monkey being caught in a trap, arrogance overwhelming everything, so is Bodhi. Striving for Bodhi, for the sake of Dharma verses, I even gave up my own life. Having abandoned the Dharma, not possessing diligence, becoming meaningless, one will fall from the teachings. I, in the past, for the sake of explaining the meaning well, jumped into a great cliff, jumped into blazing flames. Having heard that, having completely abandoned suffering and non-suffering, abide diligently. Hearing various teachings, merits, and wealth, if one never tires of those desires, then where will Bodhi be in desiring what is not Dharma? It is like a blind person having no clear path. Thus it was said. In the King of Samadhis, which elaborates on the equality of all Dharmas, it also says: Those who are deceived by the gain of knowledge, will stray far from my teachings. For those who abide in the perception of results, practitioners accumulate wealth. Lazy people with diminished diligence, do not abide in the accumulation of discipline, speaking by rising up from all sides, this is not what the Buddha taught. Some say this: We have entered Bodhi. Not tamed and not purified, they make marks on each other. They also do not abide in the Dharmas, and the desire for fame will arise. They believe in that way, for the sake of seeking the gain of knowledge. Focusing their minds on gatherings, the desire for gain and honor will arise. Overwhelmed by pride and carelessness, they strive for gain and respect. Thus it was said. Again, in the same Sutra, it says: In the time after my Nirvana, when the holy Dharma is completely destroyed, monks who are diligent in heretical thoughts, they will abandon my peaceful Dharma. Greedy for houses, land, and wild trees, very violent and fond of stealing, evil friends attached to food, attached to and craving robes and begging bowls, abiding in gain, they will abandon the Dharma. Those people are violent in mind, hateful and not upright. From lowly castes and poor castes, having entered my teachings and ordained, they will abandon this peaceful Dharma. With the mind of Mara, beings are shrouded in darkness, controlled by desire, they manifest attachment, controlled by ignorance, children are ignorant.
