To all sentient beings, truly and thoroughly cultivate equanimity. Equality in giving. Equality in loving-kindness. Equality in compassion. Non-discrimination. Realizing the equality of space. Son of good family, this is how a Bodhisattva, when giving, does not differentiate between sentient beings. How then does one not differentiate between dharmas? One should not generate the thought that one should give to those who speak the Dharma, but not give to those who do not speak the Dharma. One gives because one has attained equality in all dharmas. One does not give by considering individual ordinary beings as inferior. One does not give because one has become a great noble being. Furthermore, one gives because of the equality of the nature of the realm of Dharma, without any differentiation; this is called not differentiating between dharmas. How then does one not differentiate between dedications? When giving, one should not dedicate the root of virtue for the sake of attaining the state of Indra. Not for the sake of attaining the state of Brahma. Not for kingship, not for a merchant, not for a householder, not for beauty or color, not for enjoyment, not for power, not for attendants. One does not dedicate the root of virtue from all realms of existence, to the place of death and rebirth. Except for dedicating the root of virtue to the unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment, not for the Hearer's Vehicle, not for the Solitary Realizer's Vehicle; this is called not differentiating between dedications. Equal thought towards others, equal action, without expecting fruition, without depending on what others have done, with a mind that has fully matured with superior intention, with a mind without regret, having obtained faith in the three times, giving without deceit or pretense, and even after giving, one will obtain faith; this is called not differentiating between thoughts. Son of good family, when giving in this way, the Bodhisattva does not...

This is how it is done. This is the first place where the perfection of generosity of a Bodhisattva is completely purified. In this way, generosity that is completely purified in eight ways becomes generosity. What are the eight views? It is when generosity is given with a view of selflessness that is completely pure. Similarly, views of sentient beings, life, individuals, annihilation, permanence, birth, and destruction are completely pure. Generosity that is completely purified by these eight views becomes generosity. This is also the second place where the perfection of generosity of a Bodhisattva is completely purified. Having abandoned the four latent predispositions, generosity becomes generosity. What are the four? The latent predisposition of the Dharma of ordinary beings, the latent predisposition of the Dharma of Hearers, the latent predisposition of the Dharma of Solitary Buddhas, and the latent predisposition of the connection of habitual patterns. Having abandoned these four latent predispositions, generosity becomes generosity. Having completely abandoned the four perceptions, generosity becomes generosity. What are the four? The perception of permanence, the perception of happiness, the perception of purity, and the perception of self, these are the four. Generosity that is completely purified in four ways becomes generosity. What are the four? Body completely purified, speech completely purified, mind completely purified, and intention completely purified, these are the four. Having abandoned the three attachments, generosity becomes generosity. What are the three? Attachment to the hope of ripening results, attachment to regret, and attachment to dedicating to the lesser vehicle, these are the three. Having transcended the three fears, generosity becomes generosity. What are the three? The fear of excessive pride, the fear of arrogance, and the fear of the actions of demons, these are the three. Generosity sealed with four seals becomes generosity. What are the four? Sealed with the seal of inner emptiness, sealed with the seal of outer emptiness, sealed with the seal of emptiness of sentient beings, and sealed with the seal of emptiness of enlightenment, these are the four. Generosity that is inseparable from engaging in the four diligences becomes generosity. What are the four?
