An explanation of the benefits of giving. The Sutra Entering Great Compassion also states: "Young bodhisattva, the great bodhisattva who delights in giving has ten benefits. What are these ten? They are as follows: He cuts off the affliction of stinginess. His mind constantly cultivates the habit of giving. He extracts the essence from the enjoyment shared by many people. He is born into a wealthy family, and as soon as he is born, the mind of giving manifests. He cherishes and loves the four assemblies. He goes into the assembly without fear or hesitation. The sound of extensive proclamation and verses appear in all directions. His limbs are soft and youthful. His soles are even and well-placed. He will not be separated from virtuous friends until he sits at the essence of enlightenment. Young bodhisattva, the great bodhisattva's virtue of delighting in giving is these ten." So it is said. The Sutra Questioned by Akashagarbha also states: "Giving is the root of the ten powers." Abiding in that, one possesses morality. Abiding in the qualities of morality, one attains meditation. Meditation without attachment perfects wisdom. Giving and taming greatly satisfy the mind. When afflictions cease, they do not arise again. Giving is said to benefit oneself and others. The accumulation of benefit and happiness is unsurpassed by giving. So it is said. The Condensed Verses of the Perfection of Wisdom also state: "The bodhisattva's giving cuts off the realm of pretas. It cuts off poverty and all afflictions as well. When practicing, one will obtain endless increasing enjoyment. Through giving, he fully ripens sentient beings who have become miserable." So it is said. The Sutra of the Jewel Cloud also states: "The Blessed One also said that if one gives, it is the bodhisattva's enlightenment. If a bodhisattva gives, he abandons non-virtuous dharmas, jealousy, stinginess, and the three lower realms." Therefore, I should learn from the Tathagata and give. 的经中也说：如果以梵天我的布施来象征涅槃，那么这是孩子们无法理解的。对此，心怀智慧的菩萨应如此信解：布施是为了使他方获得巨大的享受，因此没有任何迁变。没有迁变即是涅槃。菩萨藏经中也说：舍利子，菩萨将获得布施的十种利益。是哪十种呢？给予食物，能获得寿命、勇气、安乐、力量和圆满的相好。给予饮品，能获得断除一切烦恼和存在的圆满。给予乘具，能获得一切安乐之物的圆满。给予衣服，能获得惭愧、知耻和如黄金般清净的相好圆满。给予香和花鬘，能获得戒律、听闻、禅定的香气和涂油的圆满。给予极香的香、粉末和涂油，能获得身体坚实的香气圆满。给予味道，能获得从各种味道中最好的味道，大丈夫相的圆满。给予住所，能获得一切有情的住所、依靠、洲渚、救护和亲友的圆满。给病人施药，能获得无有不悦、无有死亡，圆满无死安乐的圆满。给予各种用具，能获得菩提道分之法的用具圆满。舍利子，希求菩提的菩萨如此行布施，将完全获得这十种布施的利益。此外，舍利子，菩萨还将获得其他十种利益。是哪十种呢？例如，给予灯火，能获得如来五眼完全清净的圆满。给予钹，能获得天人的清净天耳的圆满。黄金

Also from the Sutra: If the Nirvana is to be symbolized by the giving of Brahma, then it will not be understood by children. Therefore, a Bodhisattva who is wise in mind will be devoted in this way: Giving is for the sake of great enjoyment for others, so there is no change there. That which is without change is Nirvana. Also from the Sutra of the Bodhisattva Pitaka: Shariputra, a Bodhisattva will obtain ten benefits of giving. What are the ten? By giving food, one will obtain longevity, courage, happiness, strength, and perfect beauty. By giving drink, one will obtain the perfection of eliminating all afflictions and existence. By giving vehicles, one will obtain the perfection of all objects of happiness. By giving clothes, one will obtain the perfection of shame, knowing shame, and the purity of color like gold. By giving incense and garlands, one will obtain the perfection of the fragrance of discipline, learning, concentration, and ointment. By giving very fragrant incense, powder, and ointment, one will obtain the perfection of the fragrant smell of the body's firmness. By giving taste, one will obtain the perfection of the taste of the best of all tastes, the marks of a great man. By giving dwelling, one will obtain the perfection of the dwelling, support, island, refuge, and friends of all sentient beings. By giving medicine to the sick, one will obtain the perfection of complete happiness without displeasure and without death. By giving various utensils, one will obtain the perfection of the complete utensils of the Dharma of the aspects of enlightenment. Shariputra, if a Bodhisattva who desires enlightenment gives in this way, he will completely receive these ten benefits of giving. Furthermore, Shariputra, a Bodhisattva will also obtain ten other benefits. What are the ten?
