Is reproached. Where to rely on the kasaya robe, where to live like a servant by hand, where even the gods should rely on, a monk should not rely on. A pure-sounding person who relies on should not be accompanied by a corpse. Without clinging to the inferior body as me, without hope and without elaboration, not fearing the fear of samsara, relying on the king is not beautiful. Forests and monasteries, cemeteries and, places on the edge of rocky mountains, a monk who dwells is very good, one should not rely on the royal palace. Thus, relying on the king, being reproached by various means, is reproached by all who practice brahmacharya. If a monk should do something, he should rely on the king of wisdom. He will always rely on the peaceful one, not eating ghosts and obtaining goodness. The means of relying on him is this: relying on diligence, having no other business, relying on the guru, being content, possessing excellent reliance, always paying attention, not being greedy, practicing, asking the guru, holding excellent reliance, paying homage to the sangha, not being lazy, relying on brahmacharya. These are the means for a monk to rely on the king of wisdom. Then at that time, the Bhagavan Light Protector spoke in verse: Thus, practice and respect the guru, thus, asking and giving, thus, relying on the precepts, is relying on the king of wisdom. This is the happiness of the king who relies on the gods and humans, the one who suffers from the bondage of life, the one who claims to be king is not. Whoever has no suffering, he becomes the true king, whoever is entangled by suffering, how should this one be called king? Thus, a monk should rely on the king of wisdom, not an ordinary person, relying on him, he will fall away from meditation and reading. If he falls away, where will the king go again, he will be born in hell, hungry ghosts, and animals. Therefore, a monk, knowing those faults, should not rely on the king. This is what those who dwell in the forest say.

Therefore, this ninth dharma, which obstructs meditation and recitation, is to be blamed, so it is said. Also in the Vinaya it is said: These ten are the faults of entering the inner court of the royal palace. What are the ten? Monks, when the king is sitting together with a virtuous queen, and a monk enters there, the queen smiles upon seeing the monk, and the monk also smiles upon seeing the queen, then the king will think: Have these two done something or will they do something? This is the first fault of entering the inner court of the royal palace. Monks, furthermore, the king is busy with many affairs and has many things to do, and forgets after having intercourse with any queen, because he is too attached to that queen, then the king will think: No one else can enter here except renunciants, it must be the work of renunciants. Monks, this is the second fault of entering the inner court of the royal palace. Monks, furthermore, in the inner court of the royal palace, any precious jewel is not seen, then the king will think: No one else can enter here except renunciants, it must be the work of renunciants. Monks, this is the third fault of entering the inner court of the royal palace. Monks, furthermore, in the inner court of the royal palace, any secret discussion is heard outside, then the king will think: No one else can enter here except renunciants, it must be the work of renunciants. Monks, this is the fourth fault of entering the inner court of the royal palace. Monks, furthermore, in the inner court of the royal palace, a son begs from his father, then they will think: No one else can enter here except renunciants, it must be the work of renunciants. Monks, this is the fifth fault of entering the inner court of the royal palace. Monks, furthermore, when the king is sitting in a low place, but is placed in a high place, then those who do not

Those people will think like this: the king is close to the renunciates, so he has become like a renunciate. Monks, this is the sixth fault of entering the king's palace. Monks, furthermore, when the king places someone of low status in a high position, those who are displeased will think like this: the king is close to the renunciates, so he has become like a renunciate. Monks, this is the seventh fault of entering the king's palace. Monks, furthermore, when the king engages in service at inappropriate times, those who are displeased will think like this: the king is close to the renunciates, so he has become like a renunciate. Monks, this is the eighth fault of entering the king's palace. Monks, furthermore, when the king's army is assembled but is stopped halfway, those who are displeased will think like this: the king is close to the renunciates, so he has become like a renunciate. Monks, this is the ninth fault of entering the king's palace. Monks, furthermore, in the king's palace, there are gatherings of elephants, gatherings of horses, gatherings of chariots, and delightful sights, sounds, smells, tastes, and tactile sensations, which are not good qualities for renunciates. Monks, this is the tenth fault of entering the king's palace. Thus it was said. Regarding the view on the generosity of householders: In the Sutra Requested by Near Disciples, it is also said: Shariputra, furthermore, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva, a great Bodhisattva, as a householder living at home, should abide in two kinds of generosity. Which two? Namely, the generosity of Dharma and the generosity of material things. Shariputra, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva, a great Bodhisattva, as a householder living at home, should abide in these two kinds of generosity with non-attachment and non-anger.
