When the unmoving is not attained, do not trust and waver in it. If the manifestly fabricated is taken as the path, then the practice of samadhi will also be destroyed. Therefore, completely abandon conceptual thoughts, and meditate on the supreme path. The conceptual thoughts of happiness, purity, and permanence should be known as the nature of fabrication and deception. Completely abandon conceptual thoughts about things. Even if a small object arises, it will become the basis for being pierced by the arrow of afflictions. If all such harms are destroyed, then one will transcend the realm of demons. If one is endowed with the fault of dwelling, then meditation will not become a pure state. Following dwelling is decline, therefore it is called a dry well. In order to accomplish the truth of conventional terms, this is called the worldly path. Since there is no arising or abandoning of existence and non-existence, there is no arising of anything anywhere. If the mind possesses a state like the expanse of the sky, then one will be separated from the abodes of the three realms. For steadfast conduct free from pretense, and for those who possess a state without flattery, even if they perform worldly actions, they only perform actions that benefit beings. Since one has obtained mastery over the mind, the power of samadhi does not decline. Before obtaining this, since one possesses many wonderful fruits of samadhi, like the ocean in summer, rivers grow and increase due to the influx of new water. This is the chapter on the perfection of meditation. May these merits of generosity and so forth, together with the protector of wisdom, become even more powerful. Like beautiful ornaments of gold, having various forms, inlaid with jewels, shining with light. The power of those qualities for their respective meanings, this wisdom accomplishes great things. Just as the senses clearly manifest with the power of the mind in the distinctions of their respective objects. If this body is separated from life, it is powerless, and accomplishing one's own needs is not beautiful. Likewise, if one is foolish without wisdom, there is no beauty in the world of accomplishing benefits. The aspects of the faculties such as faith, among the other faculties, are mainly held by wisdom. Endowed with its protection, knowing virtues and faults, one will become skilled in the way of pacifying afflictions. Without wisdom, in the pursuit of results, generosity and so forth will not become pure. Abandoning benefit for others is said to be the supreme generosity, the remainder is the activity of increasing wealth. If wisdom is unclear, one is completely submerged.

Then, if a Bodhisattva gives away his own flesh, Without any discrimination, like a medicinal tree, There is no high or low for him. Therefore, transcendence of the world is the basis of meaning, A mind full of joy and without anger, Desiring to accomplish the welfare of beings with great generosity, Will attain the first Bodhisattva ground. Dwelling in it, most will attain enlightenment, Holding unwavering intelligence, will become a universal monarch. By the power of wisdom, through the supreme path of bliss shown, Gradually, one will also attain the stainless Bodhisattva ground. Thereafter, possessing the conduct of pure nature, He will become the universal monarch of the four continents, All kings will accept his commands with their heads, And he will be worshiped like the Sage, the Victorious One. Beyond those, and the heavenly realms of the desire realm, And the dominion of the two thousand three thousand great thousand worlds, Will be attained; beyond those, By purifying the causes with the light of wisdom, one can attain. If the darkness is not dispelled by the light of wisdom, Then he will not possess pure discipline. Mostly, discipline is corrupted due to lack of wisdom, And defiled by afflictions due to the fault of knowledge. If one does not practice discipline for one's own sake, Then the wise will see the faults of the prison of existence, Thereafter, disgusted with all the world, What need is there to say about not practicing for the sake of existence? If the mind is disturbed by the fault of wrong wisdom, Then what need is there to say that the virtue of patience can abide in it? Holding an attitude of displeasure towards good things, Like an ornament without virtue. For those who possess wisdom, harm Will not occur because of the virtue of patience. Like the most excellent elephant kings who are extremely tame, Can endure various kinds of different actions. Practicing diligence alone will end in exhaustion, If assisted by wisdom as a friend, great things will be accomplished. After practicing, one will attain its virtues, The fatigue arising from it will be completely eliminated. One will be praised by the wise, Because there is nothing more subtle and profound than this, The straight path of the mind, not obscured by the faults of desire, Will not be without wisdom. Such meditation, possessing supreme bliss and joy, How can a base person achieve in his mind That which is accumulated with faults, renowned for great evils, And relies on the ways of wrong reasoning? If one holds intelligence without diligence in the way of wisdom, then
