Just like the sky, it is produced. From the gathering of the five elements, The eye consciousness arises. If these conditions do not exist, The eye consciousness will not arise. These, individually, Cannot be found even if searched for. Likewise, from the remaining faculties, The arising of these successive consciousnesses, Is like a rainbow in the sky, It should be understood from the condition of ignorance. Furthermore, that which arises from conditions, Should be known to have five characteristics: Being free from permanence and annihilation, Likewise, abandoning transformation, Also, from a small cause, A great result arises, And possessing similarities, Like causes produce like effects. Because the aggregates that tend towards birth, Will tend towards death, For that reason, It should be known that this is not permanent. It is not annihilation, because the aggregates, Do not arise from the existence or Non-existence of causes, Just like the high and low of a spindle. Because the aggregates are of the same kind, Again, in another birth, Different kinds will arise, Therefore, it is also not transformation. Because from doing a small deed, A great result will arise, Therefore, from a small cause, A great result arises. Because whatever kind of deed is done, Its image is not abandoned, Because such a cause arises, Therefore, it is said to be similar to the cause. From this world, No dharma increases to another place, However, karma and result, Are considered to exist. Ignorance, grasping, craving, Are collectively the afflictions. Action, existence, Should be known as the names of karma. Consciousness, name and form, As well as birth and contact, Old age, death, and the remaining, Should be known as the names of suffering. Emptiness is the great teacher, Because it will be explained below, To avoid the fault of repetition, Therefore, the external characteristics are not explained. Whoever knows with wisdom, as it is, That the nature of beings arises from conditions, That person with subtle intelligence, Will see the Tathagata who is fully endowed with all grounds. These are the antidotes to the practice of delusion. Therefore, the mind is workable, So are the body and feelings.

And, for the mind and such dharmas, cultivate with respectful mindfulness. Hands, feet, buttocks, chest, crossroads, throat, shoulders, abdomen, chest, cheeks, back, internal organs, and the collection of parts of the head, this body, thus again becomes the abode of the various poisons of all afflictions. Called impermanent, those with minds like foolish people, practice for the sake of benefit. Apart from examining what is not real, this body is the end of the past, from where does it come? The end of the future also does not go, therefore, in the beginning, end, and middle, examine that nothing exists. Therefore, fundamentally non-existent, this body has no protector. Thus, for this collection of parts, the body does not truly exist, therefore, the wise should constantly abide in the mindfulness of the body like the sky. Also, in worldly terms, called the accomplished body and aggregates, the husk and the abode, all of these are temporary. From cultivating the mindfulness of the body, for the other bodies of sentient beings, in order to show similarity with oneself, Bodhisattvas generate recognition. From the body without essence, the body and enjoyment are essence, thus, the essence of life, these three essences should be taken. This body of mine is impermanent, as a disciple of sentient beings, whatever is accomplished, that is called the essence of the body. The body is hollow, therefore, for enjoyment, whatever does not give rise to joy, that is endowed with all giving, that obtains the essence of enjoyment. Remembering the body without essence, for the sake of life, one does not commit sinful deeds, that obtains the essence of life. If this body is not constantly and completely protected, because it cannot grow, it is the same as children. This body is the same as an old house, diligently protect and hold it. Because it bestows many teachings, it is the same as kings. Like the deceptive nature of shadows, because it must be covered with great effort, this body is the same as an unsealed vase. Like the flow of a great river, the end of the body reaches the sea of death. Like a short spear, it is the cause of producing suffering, because it is constantly without benefit.
