The doctor gives up. Medicine, food, edibles, and porridge are all in vain. To go to other places, one lies on the final bed. Submerged in the cycle of birth, aging, and death without beginning. Life is only a little bit left, terrified by the messengers of Yama. Gone into the power of demons. Breathing stops, mouth and nose open, teeth chatter. Praying to give alms, one makes such requests. From the existence of karma, one enters into existence again. Alone, without a companion, one abandons this world and goes to another world. A great cry is raised, entering great darkness, falling into a great cliff, entering a dense forest, going to a solitary wilderness, carried away by a great ocean, blown by the wind of karma. Going in a direction without a foothold, at this time, other than the Dharma, there is no other protector, no other refuge, no other support. Great King, at that time, at that moment, the Dharma will become a vast continent, a dwelling, a protector, a refuge, a support, and a teacher. Great King, at that time, thinking thus in his heart: Alas, where will I go? Which direction will I go? Who will completely accept me? Who will become my refuge? From these thoughts, he will see beings being born in hell, such as: Avici Hell, Hot Hell, Extremely Hot Hell, and so on. In these hells, beings will suffer great pain, unbearable pain, intense, harsh, unpleasant feelings for many years, hundreds of years, thousands of years. As long as the sins and all the non-virtuous deeds that cause beings to experience suffering in hell are not completely exhausted and purified, they will not reach the moment of death. When he sees beings being born in the animal realm, such as: in the great ocean, raw fish and creatures that swallow raw fish kill and harm each other.

It is born without power. I wonder if I will not be born in the realm of the pretas? Great King, therefore you should contemplate impermanence, contemplate exhaustion and decay, and be afraid of death. Govern the kingdom with Dharma, and do not govern with non-Dharma. You should be in accordance with the Dharma, and not in accordance with non-Dharma. Why is that? Great King, this body of yours, even though it is well protected and well nurtured, will still face the moment of death. Endowed with all virtues, enjoying food, chewing, tasting, and satisfying for a very long time, nourished and nurtured with many merits and purity, when lying on the final bed, the doctor will abandon you, and medicine, food, drink, and beverages will also be abandoned. Afflicted by hunger and thirst, and with an uneasy mind, you will face the moment of death. Great King, like this, even if you wash your body, anoint it with oil, perfume it with incense, and adorn it with fragrant flowers, you cannot avoid the natural and innate foul odor that arises at the time of death. Great King, like this, even if you are covered with various kinds of clothes such as fine Kashmiri cloth, silk, Dugula cloth, satin, feathers, cotton, and linen, when lying on the final bed, you will be stained with various oils and water, wearing dirty clothes, and face the moment of death. Great King, you are thus among women, surrounded by consorts, surrounded by groups of women, performing dances, songs, music, and playing cymbals, playing lutes, drums, and flutes, beating drums, happily playing and enjoying pleasure, but you will also be extremely uneasy in your mind due to fear of death, and face the moment of death. Great King, like this, in your house, fragrant incense is applied, incense is lit, the windows are tightly closed, many ointments are applied, and it is filled with fragrant ghee
