And make the aspiration to swiftly and completely realize pure and perfect enlightenment. Holding these thoughts in mind, possessing such actions and aspirations, relying on the perception of happiness that follows all sentient beings, drawing near, practicing, and widely engaging, thereby maturing and attaining the samadhi called 'Subduing all Dharmas with Bliss.' When a Bodhisattva attains the samadhi of 'Subduing all Dharmas with Bliss,' all demonic activities will be unable to seize or disturb them, as extensively explained in the sutra. This preliminary practice perfects all giving, accomplishes all difficult practices, stabilizes all patience, makes all diligence unflagging, and is in accordance with the collection of limbs of meditation and wisdom. Therefore, one should always rejoice. As stated in the 'Moon Lamp Sutra': 'With reverence and a constantly joyful mind, one will always abide in the peaceful view.' Thus it is proclaimed. The 'Inexhaustible Intelligence Sutra' also states similarly. So, what is great joy? It is remembering, recollecting, and rejoicing in the qualities of the Buddha, as well as faith, extreme joy, a mind that is neither arrogant nor humble, absence of existence (samsara), abandoning all sensual pleasures, serving as the basis for all Dharma joy, extreme inner joy, extreme physical ease, rejoicing in the Buddha, a leaping heart, rejoicing in the body of the Tathagata, being skilled in seeking the causes of the excellent marks and signs with devotion, not being weary of hearing virtuous teachings, diligently relying on that Dharma, believing in the Dharma with joy, satisfaction, delight, and extreme joy, constantly and continuously having a mind without anger towards sentient beings, desiring to seek the Dharma, and not abandoning this desire, believing in the vast Dharma and attaining liberation, generating a mind that is not mixed with the lesser vehicle, and generating a mind without stinginess and without shrinking back.

Whatever wealth one wishes to give with their heart, they should give. Having given, they should also completely purify the three circles. They should rejoice in giving, and always have faith and joy in those who possess discipline. They should follow and cherish those who have broken their discipline. Their own discipline should be completely pure, and they should breathe freely, having completely transcended all fears of the lower realms. They should dedicate the discipline of the Tathāgata, be steadfast and unwavering, and have a mind free from anger towards the path of words of those who speak ill or slander. They should be patient and resolute, without arrogance, prostrating to and serving the guru. They should always have a smiling face, without a frown, speaking frankly and openly, without hypocrisy, without flattery, not measuring by gain, with pure intention, without rudeness in their heart, without deceit, looking well upon all, seeing no faults, not speaking of downfalls, and following the Dharma that leads to true joy. They should cherish Bodhisattvas as they would cherish the teacher, cherish the Dharma as they would cherish themselves, cherish the Tathāgatas as they would cherish their own life, cherish the guru as they would cherish their parents, cherish sentient beings as they would cherish their children, cherish the Khenpo and Acharya as they would cherish the Buddha, cherish diligence as they would cherish the head, the most important part of their limbs, cherish the Pāramitās as they would cherish their hands and feet, cherish those who speak the Dharma as they would cherish all jewels, cherish all the Buddha's teachings as they would cherish a wish-fulfilling jewel, cherish following the teachings as they would cherish a beloved game, cherish contentment as they would cherish being free from illness, cherish those who seek the Dharma as they would cherish medicine, and cherish those who encourage and remind as they would cherish a doctor. Thus, whatever does not abandon the senses in all the senses, this is called joy. And so forth, it is said. The Bodhisattvas who train in this, as it is said in the Ārya Mahāmegha Sūtra: Sentient beings may even rejoice in the hell realms.
